my 22 month old child goes to a daycare where his grandma works and her best friend owns. Today after lunch my childs grandma (also an employee) was cleaning him off, he was standing on the highchair when she was brusing crumbs off of him. He stepped off the side of the highchair and she grabbed him. When I got to the center everyone working there wanted to show me his "owies" He has a very big red rug burn type mark that goes all the way around the back of the his neck. I talked to owner of daycare about this and said he was grabbed by the arm and leg upside down. She must have grabbed the bib a little too. I asked why i was never notified and owner said well his grandma was there and your a little hard to get a hold of also that it was not a significant enough injury to call me. This daycare has called me for him having a diaper rash. They should have let me known it was his neck. He was evaluated at the er, doc said it was a signigicant burn. Should they have called me is it neglec

in your opinion is it inappropriate for me to invite my 14 year old sister into the delivery room, we have always been really close like best friends and she is really mature for her age. her mom recently passed away from cancer which ultimatly made us closer. (we have the same dad) she is my only sister. i just want everyones input and honest opinion,do you think that is too young?

I am currently pregnant with my first child and am doing a lot of research online about vaccinations (specifically, their possible link to autism, which still has not been totally dis-proven). While I think vaccines were one of the best medical inventions of the modern age, I am concerned that giving so many doses (24 shots before the baby is 15 months old) of vaccines when an infant is so young and is still growing and forming their immune system seems harmful. I will be a stay-at-home mom for the first few years of my baby's life, so I don't need to worry so much about the baby contracting deadly diseases at day care or from me and my work. I'd like to wait until the baby is a little older to get the shots. I was just wondering what others have thought about this issue, and whether or not you had your child vaccinated right away.

Oh, I also found out that the flu shot (which is recommended for all pregnant women) is the only one that still has mercury in it, which was shocking!

well i asked a question earlier about mini cribs and everyone seemed confused and told me to get a pack-n-play. i can't have my step-daughter sleep in a pack-n-play two weeks out of every month that just isn't right. especially since we just recieved a regular crib for our son. anyways i want to know if anyone has experience with this type of bed. they usually convert to a twin bed. i want to know where do you get the bedding and sheets? does this type of bed work good for you? and how much smaller are they then a regular crib? see the problem is our son and step-daughter will be in the same room for quite a few months until we get a bigger place (when we have the money) and we didn't realize how big his crib was when we picked it out. now we have to fit another crib in the room so i'm looking for either a less bulky regular crib or a mini crib but i don't know much about the mini and i haven't found a store that has them on display. i just want to know how well they work. thanks.

My son turns 3 on Saturday and I'm worried he's really behind with his speech. I know I'm not suppose to compare but it's hard not to when every child I encounter, even those who are 6 months younger seem to be far ahead of my son when it comes to speech. He will only say the last couple of words to a sentence or for example, he will say 'you're okay' but he's talking about himself. Even though I correct him time after time, he just doesn't seem to get it. Or he'll say 'goodbye Chase' (his name) instead of 'goodbye mom' but other times he will say it correctly. If he says something I can't understand and I say 'what', he just repeats 'what' back to me. I work with him on using sentences and correct responses but it doesn't seem to be working.

I just want to hear from others who might be experiencing the same issue and what you did.

Im looking at going back to work in January next year - bub will be 6 months by then. Im absolutley devistated at the thought of leaving him, but im going back so my partner and i can apply to get a home loan so we will have some financial security and something to leave our kids when we're not here. Ive already been in tears a couple times about it - i just want to know how others cope? I originally was going to have a full year off, but with house prices increasing all the time, if we dont go for a home loan soon, we will never be able to afford one. i feel so guilty about having to leave him - hes going to be looked after by family, so that makes me feel a little better, but im still so upset about it. Any tips?

A lot of believe that abortion is going against god's will. My question is if abortion is wrong why isn't getting fertility treatments wrong too. If god chose for you not to have children then that is god's will. If you go and get fertility treatments to be able to get pregnant isn't that going against god's will?

I am due any week now and plan on breast-feeding. I have heard of many women starting to where nursing pads before their baby is born because they are already producing milk... I haven't had anything come out except this orange-ish colored residue. I was wondering if this natural/common and if some woman just start producing milk later on after giving birth?

My daughter's teacher is getting two new horses and she's picking her favorite name that the kids suggest. My daughter wants hers to be picked (they win a homework pass and a bag of candy... hehe). She needs help picking one.

Horse 1: He's a VERY big one. He is dark black. He is a very very nice horse and is very gentle. His other owners were not treating him well, he has qualities of a very good show horse but is currently 300 pounds underweight. She couldn't not get him. His current show name is XXL (ew, huh?) and she can't change it because of regulations. His real name was Black Horse (origninal isn't it?).

The other horse she is getting is a mini horse. She is chosing between two and one is a caramel color with blonde-ish hair and the other is the same color just with a white spot and brown main and tail. She doesn't have as much info on these but they both come from good homes. Both are female.

The other two she has are named "HiC" (but is called "Granny") and Rebel.

I have a 9 month old and my doctor gave me what she admitted to be an unnecessary episiotomy. I've tried multiple times to have vaginal intercourse with husband and have succeeded once but I hurt at the point of my scar very very bad afterward and haven't tried again since. It's been about a month. I'm concerned that I healed wrong or something. Does anyone have any advice other than to go to the doctor. I can't go to the doctor until we get health insurance again which could be a few months. Also would like to know if others have experienced this.

My doctor's nurse called today to remind me to schedule the 6 week appointment for me (mommy) today. My baby's already 8 weeks old today, I feel fine, I've gotten my period again, and I don't see any concern. The delivery was a normal, induced, vaginal delivery with a few stitches.

So, how important is this appointment? What do they check? Do they take a blood test or anything?

My main concern is that I don't want to pay a couple hundred dollars for a lousy 5 min checkup. If it's really important, I'll go, but I've got enough medical bills from the delivery and I don't want to make more.
