I think 6 month. He is now 8 months and I still break them in half. He loves them.

7 months is about how old my niece started on the gerber puffs. The best way to make yourself feel better is to buy a can. When you open the can, before you decide to give it to your baby, put it in your mouth and see how fast it desolves. After that, I'm sure you'll see that it's age appropriate. They desolve within a couple of seconds, it would be VERY hard to choke on them. :-)

I think around 6 months, my baby had an easier time with the parents choice brand at wal-mart than gerber..

At 6 months when I started solids I started putting some on the hihg chair tray for my daughter to start practicing the pincer grasp. It took a few weeks and then she was picking them up and eating them. I used them as a snack when we went out for about a year. They were the greatest.

i waited until he could handle cheerios before i tried the puffs...With cheerios, babies cant choke on them; because of the whole in the middle will still allow them to breathe if they swallow them.
I started cheerios at 6 months (he had 4 teeth) and the puffs at about 8 months (he had about 6 teeth) My son never really liked the puffs until he was about 14 months, though.

I waited until he was able to use a 'pincer grasp' - that is, pick things up between his thumb and forefinger. He was about 7 months old.
