Just was wondering if a woman on the pill missed her period if she was pregnant. Its only been one day, but she is really worried and i am starting to worry. She is saying though that she is getting cramping in her lower back but shes been having nausea problems before that. What do you guys think?

She is saying though that she is getting cramping in her lower back but shes been having nausea problems before that. We only did it once without a condom and even then i pulled out before. Don't worry. She'll just have to wait a little while. If her period doesn't come, then she should take a test. No worry. It's cheap and easy to take the test.

Although a day is a bit soon to make any judgments, there is certainly the possibility that she is pregnant assuming that she is sexually active.
The pill is not, and does not claim to be, 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. The pill's effectivness is decreased further if pills are skipped or taken at inconsistent times of day.
Modern pregnancy tests claim effectiveness as soon as several days after the missed period. For now, try your best to keep her calm and just wait it out. It's too soon to know for sure, but be aware that pregnancy may very well be a possibility.
Good luck.

Pills are only 99% affective, so there is always a chance of getting pregnant while on the pill. My mo had 2 kids while taking the pill. If she missed a pill or two during a single cycle, she has increased her chances greatly of conceiving.
There is always the possibility that the pills themselves are the reason she is late. If she just started taking them, her cycle may be abnormal for a few months until she is regulated.

The Pill is only 99% effective if she takes it religiously. Unforunately the percentage of women who take their pill correctly every day at the same time, and never miss a pill is only about 65%. If used "incorrectly" the pregnancy prevention drops to about 82%. Which means out of every 10 times you have sex unprotected, (i.e. without a condom) she's dodging a bullet 2 of those times. So, cap it before you tap it. :) But, in good faith, I hope she's not pregnant and I hope things work out.

Its only been 1 day.....dont get worried about it yet.
She is cramping so that is a good sign.
It is possible to fall preggers on the pill, but not very likely....unless she skipped a day!
DONT WORRY! If in a week she still hasnt got her period, then start looking into it.
Good luck.

there are lots of reasons for missing or late periods. stress, diet, environment.... if she has taken the pill as advised by doctor (not missing any) she is probably not pregnant. if she is worried about being pregnant (which can also trigger late periods) she should take a preg. test.

Not necessarily. Sometimes I would miss mine while I was on the pill. If she's really that worried have her take a test just to be sure.

I have had the same situation and went to the dr for it. Turns out that me exercising more and changing my diet ended up changing how my body was operating and once it got used to it was back to normal again. Not sure of your situation though...wait a few days and if you are still not sure...take a test. Good luck.

I wouldn't worry too much. A lot of birth controls cause the woman to skip periods or become lighter.

It's possible. You mean it's been one day since she was supposed to have her period? That's not that unusual, it might be stress. But take a test if it doesn't come at all.
