Which hospital do i call?

I just recently moved about 2 hrs from my obgyn and hospital that i plan to give birth at. (Yes i drive 2 hrs every 2 weeks to my doctors) My question is if i ever have any problems do i call the hospital that is 2 hrs away or the one down the street from me? I mean what if its an emergancy.. What do you think?

If it's an emergency, just get to your closest hospital.

If you think something's wrong but you're not sure what to do, call your doctor first and he/she will tell you how to proceed.

Ask your doctor. My friend gave birth at a hospital 3 hours away from her house because that's where her doctor was. Obviously, for a sudden high-risk emergency, go to the nearby hospital.

I say get your records sent to the nearby hospital, and then if anything happens, call them first. The one 2 hours away may get there to late to help you, while the one down the street will be "Johnny On-the-spot" so to speak.

If it's an emergency I would go to the nearest hospital. I would probably call my doctor first though.

I would call down the street cause in case they need you to come in right away, and you don't have to wait until someone on call from your other doctor calls you back....

if it is an emergency i would go with the one nearest (unless you don't feel safe with that hospital) if you are in early stages or middle stages of labor i would suggest going to the one you ob works out of.
