Example: they can rebel as teenagers....

I find it really hard to be motivated at school at the moment. I've got about 20 days left of classes until I finish for study leave. I live in New Zealand and I've passed this year already and I've got the requirements to get into University.

At the moment I'm thinking 'I really don't need to try anymore/study for my end of year exams because I've already passed the year'. Which is a bad attitude.

Other things seem to be more interesting like my laptop, TV etc etc. I know these exams are good practice and I should try. I also have an English exam on the day after my 18th birthday =[

Any tips to keep me motivated for the last 4 weeks?

Thanks

My 9 month old daughter began having cold-like symptoms yesterday. It started out with a runny nose (clear drainage) and a little cough, but no fever. Now today she still has the runny nose along with a fever. The highest it has gotten is 102.6. Using Motrin brought it down to 100.1. But then after the Mortrin wore off it was back up to 102. Should I continue with the Motrin? What can I do to help her stuffy nose? At what point do you call the pediatrician? This is the first time she's ever had a cold or fever, and I'm not sure what the general rules are. She doesn't seem to be bothered much though. She's playing like normal, she's just a little more sleepy. A friend told me that you really don't have to call the doc unless it's 103 or 104 or if it won't go down with tylenol or motrin. Any suggestions?

My son has never been able to adjust to a schedule i tried to create, but he's put himself of one over the last couple of months. Only thing i control is his bedtime routine.. We do it same way at almost same time ( depends on him )... But lately he's been so hard to put down.. His last nap used to be 4-5pm.. Now when he's tired and is rubbing his eyes around that time, i try to lay him down, and he'll scream and scream untill i get him up, then fuss if i sit him down to play and squirm if i try to hold him.. So we end up staying up and doing the routine earlier, and he's down for the night at 6:30.. (its usually 7 - 7:30 ) I realyy don't like the idea of him going to sleep so early.. But there is no way to put him down for that last nap, or try to keep him up for longer.. So he just spends the last 3 hours fussing at everything..

Anyone else have this problem?

If they walk past her house on the sidewalk, she comes out and yells at them to get off her property. She had a 5yo girl in tears last week, today she screamed at 2 kids using sidewalk chalk near (not on) her property. What can we do?

I am a single mom age 29. My children are ages 7 and 4 (almost 5), both boys. Alex is the older one and Nathan is the younger one. I don't show any favoritism towards either one, I go out of my way to make sure neither one of them is treated any differently than the other.

I know that some sibling rivalry of course is normal and to be expected, but this goes on all day, every day!!! "Nathan stuck his tongue out at me" "Mom, Alex hit me..." I've tried everything, I've put them both in timeouts, taken privileges away, even put them both to bed and make them take a nap when they get overbearing and they won't stop! Nothing works and I am completely drained; if you have any ideas of how to at least slow down the fighting or completely nip it, please, PLEASE help me.

My first pregnancy ended up in miscarriage, my second pregnancy ended up with the birth of my daughter and now I am 16 weeks pregnancy and on my third pregnancy. I remember feeling my daughter start to move around 20-21 weeks. I always get a little nervous around this time because you never know if something is wrong or not (unless you have bleeding or severe cramping). How soon do you think I will feel this little one move on a consistent basis? I think sometimes I feel it move but am not so sure.

My sister is 29 weeks pregnant and a little worried b/c the baby is usually really active but the last few days she has not been moving around as much. Is this normal? She has moved a little bit each day, but not very much and certainly not as much as usual.

I am a 24 year old female. I do not plan to have kids naturally... and have felt this way for a very long time. My feelings of this have grown deeper throughout these past few months. My mom was a foster child, along with her five brothers/sister. She was thankful and respectful for everything that came her way. I am hard working (from home) and have secure funds in the bank, and live in a safe neighborhood. I would someday soon like to have a "FOSTER CHILD" in my home. How does it work? Do I get to pick an age of a child that would work out better for me? Gender? How does the timing work? Is it for two weeks, six months, a year? Could we make a permanent stay of this if all works well? ALSO, do you have any advise regarding Foster Care? I know that my mother and her siblings had it very rough in foster care. Except for only ONE women who took them in... She was so kind. But did not last for long. Thanks for your advise and concerns :)
Sandra

Children would say the life of their mom is more important than another child in their orphanage. How many children do you value enough to adopt? There are 100 million BORN children that want a mother or father not another sibling in the orphanage. You call yourself prolife but only for those not yet BORN. Open your eyes to the Born. Thanks to free trade US jobs are going abroad to prison camps where 13 year olds work 16 hour days 7 days a week for pennies. Do you care what you pay for? Have you shopped at a BIG BOX? Is it someone elses problem? The sabbath represents freedom from slavery in Egypt.

My baby recently started taking his covers and pulling it over his face when sleeping, he can still breath fine, but has your baby ever done this? Why might he be doing this? He loves to hold his covers though and they are very thin blankets too. There is another baby at the daycare that does this too.

My son will be 11 months on the 30th. He loves his bottle. Most of his meals are still formula(another problem, but not this one) He eats soilds maybe 2-3X a week. For the past 24 hours he has refused his bottle!! He will not drink it AT ALL!! The day before he only had 2 bottles. But before that he was drinking normally(6-8oz every 3 hrs during the day) My son LOVES his bottle!! He gets very angry if we try to feed him soilds, because he just wants a bottle. So its very out of character for him to do this, and he's never done it before.

I have gotten him to eat a very small ammount of soilds today. Not enough tho. And also he has only drank about 4 oz of water.

Anyone know whats going on? Please help me!!

Lets say you're dying tomorrow and have no family and you were FORCED to place your child.... (I know someone who was in this situation God rest his soul)

What kind of parents would you seek for your children?

Would there be anything that would put a gay couple at the top of your list over all of the possible parents out there?

Just curoius.

They are also identical twins. Anyways, here's the problem, one of the twins is acting very strange lately....For example, Abusive towards my dog (almost as if for attention)and very dis-respectful and hateful towards everyone. I cannot tolerate this especially the abuse towards my dog! I try to discipline her and tell her its not right to treat animals that way, Try grounding her, try taking away privledges, but nothing seems to stop this horrific behavior! Her sister tries stoping her as well. My mother is a push-over and lets us all get away with anything, but this is another reason my neice does not take my reprimanding seriously.
So if someone out there could please give me some hints on what to do to stop her actions, please please share. thanks!

.. children weigh rather than just "parents who request it" in an effort to cut down on obesity.
Surely most parents weigh their own children anyway and know damn well if they are overweight.
I am all for school medicals and so on like we used to have (and that includes the nit nurse) but surely this is ridiculous?
