My son will be 11 months on the 30th. He loves his bottle. Most of his meals are still formula(another problem, but not this one) He eats soilds maybe 2-3X a week. For the past 24 hours he has refused his bottle!! He will not drink it AT ALL!! The day before he only had 2 bottles. But before that he was drinking normally(6-8oz every 3 hrs during the day) My son LOVES his bottle!! He gets very angry if we try to feed him soilds, because he just wants a bottle. So its very out of character for him to do this, and he's never done it before.

I have gotten him to eat a very small ammount of soilds today. Not enough tho. And also he has only drank about 4 oz of water.

Anyone know whats going on? Please help me!!

He already has his 8 front teeth. I didn't think they got molars until much later. Not sure about him getting sick. He isan't showing any signs of getting sick at all.

I would be fine with taking him off the bottle, but he dosn't eat enough soilds. He cannot live on yogurt and cheerios...no matter what he thinks. Thats why I am so conserned. If he ate enough soilds I would even worry about this.

He's probably teething, or getting a cold, or just not feeling well. It happens. My 9 month old just did this a few days ago, he's getting a molar in as best I can tell. He went two days with only nursing a little (not even for let-down) and eating some mashed fruit in passing, not a single whole meal.

Kids wont starve themselves, he'll come around. If it goes on more than a few days get him something, anything, to drink, even if its some koolaid or gatoraid, you dont want him to dehydrate.

Keep trying him on different solids when he's not drinking. It will pass.

If he drinks his bottle normally and now all of a sudden won't drink it, something is wrong.

He could be teething. All 3 of my children hated a teething ring, they sucked on a cold wet washcloth. It seemed to make them feel better as they could get it back where it needed to be and they did get liquids in them. Make sure he does get liquids in him, water or gatoraid is the best.

If he doesn't take a bottle tomorrow morning call his Peds Doc.

Over the years I have seen it too often, when mom's waited too long to seek help for their babies. It is bad enough when it was unpreventable (like my son), but when it was preventable, that's awful. Just a simple phone call, is all it takes. Please call his Doctor.

Maybe you should take him off the bottle, he is at the right age, and I personally wouldn't force him.
