I prefer to work but staying at home with the kids works best for our family. Paying daycare for our 2 babies would swallow my entire paycheck. and working a shift opposite of my husband so we don't need a sister or day care would be (was) a disaster, I worked for about 6 months before the babies were born & it was really bad. My husband has no house-spouse skills. I use to come home from 8-10 hour day & have a full days house work to do. So we decided that for now I'm more needed at home. Yeah, I get greif about it from some but they don't know what it's like for 5 kids to not have their mother home & a husband who doesn't know how to operate any applance in the house other than the television & stove. I work very hard as a stay at home mom, I never get weekends or holidays off, & I'm on call 24/7.

She drinks milk and every couple days it seems I can get her to eat some chicken nuggets, or some pizza, as well as Yogurt....She has always been a "BIG" Girl. Not fat, just about a years worth of size bigger than typical. She is really trimming down now though, and I am quite worried! Suggestions??

Ive never had unprotected sex, so now im scared at the possibility of being pregnant. He pulled out and got off, I saw him get off, but, does that mean I should worry about "pre-***"...im not scared that he has stds, he was a virgin when he met me, Im just nervous of getting pregnant now...

I am 27 weeks pregnant. Swelling started for me in my 3rd month but it was really hot here then and the Dr. said there was nothing I could do but eat very little salt and drink tons of water. Course I did that but it didn't help due to the heat. Well, it had eased up some since it got cooler out but of course it hasn't went away completely. Now it is very painful. It's mainly in my legs, ankles, and feet. My skin feels so tight like it could bust literally. Like I said, I know not to eat salt and to drink lots of water. Any other advise? At my last visit my blood pressure and everything was fine so,so far I am not toxemic....

Do you think it is strange if your Second Grade teacher wants to do a Home Visit? We are very uncomfortable with the idea. The same teacher won't allow the children to do a Halloween party - or any parties.

I had my first ultrasound at exactly 16 weeks three days ago. The person who did it was not a doctor, but an intern. The heart rate was 140.2, and i did see the fetus move around as well. I wanted to know the sex of the baby but the lady was not able to tell. Well she gave me 2 pics of the ultraound, but it just looks kind of "weird" to me because i have seen some 16 wk old fetus ultrasounds and they all look normal to me, just like regular tiny babies. Bu mine looks "different" i guess. I can see the head, and little feet, but the body and and shape of the face and head doesn't look like the other pictures of fetuses that i have seen before. I don't know if this is all normal or if it's just me being scared.

I am sure this is a very common question, but I am somewhat new to this site so I haven't really seen it on here.
My question to all of you is, if you loose your mucus plug, will you definately notice it? I know it doesn't always fall out in one big nasty blob (sorry, that sounds kinda nasty). Has anyone ever not noticed that they lost theirs? If so, or not, can you please let me know? I am familiar with mucus plugs and what they are there for..just had that question for who ever wants to answer.:) Thanks for your time!:) (I am 39 weeks pregnant and WAITING). :)

my last period started on oct. 1st.. it was actually my last month's worth so i had to make an appointment to get a new prescription (which is next week). my husband and i have had unprotected sex about 5 or 6 times since my period ended. what are the chances of conception and how long should i wait before i test? should i ask my ob/gyn to do a blood test when i go in for my appointment? i have had some slight pressure feelings in my pelvic area the past few days but i don't know if its my imagination or what! i'm getting confused. anything will help at this point lol

A friend of mine was in a car with his girlfriend and another couple on prom night. The couple in the front seat were having sex, and the couple in the back seat were making out. The guy in the back seat didn't have a condom, so he asked the guy in the front seat for one.

The guy in the front seat only had the one condom that he had just used. The guy in the back said it was okay, and took the one the guy in the front just used. He (rocket scientist that he is) shook the substance out of the inside of the condom and put it on (inside out)- then proceeded to have sex with the girl in the back.

Two months later the Girl from the back seat is pregnant.

Who should be considered the father- and thus be responsible for child support payments- he who did the deed, or he who supplied the seed?

my period was supposed to come yesterday and it still has not come. My LMP was 09/21/07. I usually get bad cramps before, and it is always on time...I had sex on 09/28, 10/02, and 10/05...the past few weeks, I have been feeling very tired, going to sleep early, eyes burning at work due to being tired, I have swollen tender breasts, urinating more frequently, always want red meat, crazy dreams, my face broke out...I know these symptoms mimic PMS, but has anyone experienced these symptoms and found out they were pregnant? Also-I have a large mucus plug come out, and it had a drop of blood in it. I have had a large amount of clear cervical mucus come out, and I ran to the bathroom, thinking it was my period (last week) and it was not. I have been having discharge more than usual, no unusual smell, but sometimes thicker, and a lot of it during the day...I am aware that pulling out is not 100 percent, and I would not mind being pregnant, so that is not an issue.

ok before i start this is not a preaching question its my opinion about a select group of ppl not everyone .

do you feel its wrong for girls that use abortion as a form of birth control, instead of taking the responsiblity and buying condoms or taking birth control as perscribed( meaning every day at the same time and not take anything that will make the pill no work such as antibiotics)?

do you think if they made it so that only girls that have been raped or if the baby will kill the mother if carried full term less ppl would disagree with abortion?

(the rape victim would need a hospital and police report)

I was wondering what were some of your funny "quirks" that you have noticed that some other mom's don't do?
For me, I HAVE to record how much and when my daughter eats! I have done this since the day she was born. I just write down the time and how many ounces she consumes. I first started this because my daughter was a not a big eater when she was a newborn, so the doctor would always ask how many ounces in a day she would eat.
Now, it's become a habit. I actually make her grandparents write it down too, if they are watching her. My husband always laughs at me, but it's something that makes me feel better.
What is one of your funny(or not funny) parenting habits that you always do.

my son is almost 8 months and i still didn't buy him a highchair because i still can't make my mind. there is tons of them out there but i like to read reviews and there is always some bad reviews that stop me from purchasing. please give me some advice from your experience. i like removable trays, sturdy chairs. price doesn't matter if it's a good quality chair.

My 12-year-old son wants to dress as a girl for Halloween. He's always on the honor roll, has plenty of friends, and is always a happy smiling kid. He loves sports and has always been "all-boy". His father is out of the picture and has been for 10 years.

My son told me he thinks it'd be funny to go as a girl this year. I haven't acted like I thought it was strange and have gone along with it. I even took him to the mall a couple of days ago and bought him a pink frilly dress. Should I actually let him wear it to school (for their Halloween costume day) and for Halloween? Is this peculiar or is it just a normal kid trying to be outrageous and funny?

Tuesday night my husband and I had sex, couple of days before I was to be ovulating (we are trying) now its Friday and im exhausted my stomach feels funky and I noticed a short fuse on my anger.
