There is a Mother's Milk tea that you can buy at health food/vitamin stores that is supposed to help milk production. You can also try eating oatmeal. Check the website Kellymom.com. They have good ideas for increasing milk production.

What is a galactagogue? Do I need one?

However the first thing you should always do when you suspect low supply is speak to a lactation consultant. If the baby isn't getting all the milk that is there then not only will they not get enough milk you won't make enough milk either.

Water is the number one thing that increases breast milk. Also, the best thing to increase your milk is for the baby to suck. When the baby sucks it causes your body to release hormones to increase breast milk. Let your baby feed for as long as he/she would like and make sure the latch is right. They say to feed the baby on both sides in one feeding but I dont. In fact it is better to feed all on one side at a feeding. The longer your baby feeds on one side the more milk you will produce. All women are scared that they wont produce enought milk for their babies but only 3% of women cant produce enough and it is due to a hormone problem. You will know based on the fact that the baby is having regular dirty diapers. Good luck!

Lots of herbal tea cos. make "mothers milk" teas, including Traditional Medicinals. The primary ingredient is usually fenugreek.

It's not a diruetic because it's an herbal tea, not a tea made from tea leaves or whatever.

Congrats on your baby. When I was breast feeding my mom would make me a drink a lot of dairy products. She said that the more milk I drank the more I would produce. Sounds silly but a little folklore wont hurt. Good luck.

There are two brands of "Mother's Milk" tea, both of which have worked rather well for me. Below are the links on Amazon, but you should be able to buy them at a GNC, or your local health food store:

Try these in combination with Fenugreek capsules, and your supply should increase noticeable in about a week.

Also, make sure to keep yourself well hydrated with water and milk.

tea is a diuretic and will not help, it will make matters worse, your best bet is water.
