Pregnancy & Parenting - 19 September 2007

We all do it, but deep down we want to teach our kids that honestly at all times is important. However, even driving down the highway there is not a single person that doesn't go over the speed limit and technically this is breaking the law, so how do we on one hand choose when to be honest and on the other hand teach our kids about honestly without being a hypocrite or having them end up choosing their own selective honestly?

I mainly want to teach my child to be honest with me at all times and not omit things to avoid consequences. But when I look at my own life and the life of every adult I know, we are all very selective about things.

I would like to hear how other parents have successfully guided their children with the value of honestly in light of this.

ok I have asked a few questions this past week or so......about my calendar saying that I was supposed to start on the 8th, exercising while TTC, and some other one about possibly being preg.......

well I was going to wait until the month was over to be sure I didn't get AF and I also didn't want to waste the test......but my husband told me I should just take it.....so this morning I had one from a while back and so I took it.....it was +!!!!!!!

I can't believe it........but how accurate do you think it is? what do I do next? I know I go to go for a blood test right? but anything else?

I have heard of people a newborn baby to sleep in a laundry basket and dresser draws. Now would you do it or have you done it in the past. that to me is a little scary.

The reason Im asking in the pregnancy part of answers, is because I didn't get any answers in women's health, and I know you girls are on here all the time. I lost my twins3 weeks 3 days ago on Aug. 26th, naturally I have been bleeding since. On Monday, I passed a large piece of tissue, about the size of your hand spread out...I gave it to the OB/GYN, and hes sending it off for testing, along with something else he removed during a pelvic exam. I am just curious if anyone else has experienced this, and would like to share with me what happened. They said at the time of birth, that both placentas delivered intact. So I'm just wondering what I passed. And if I will have to have a D & C done to remove more tissue even though both babies, and placentas seemed to come out fine. I'm also having kinda bad cramps along with the bleeding, is that normal after childbirth?

This is my forth pregnacy all my pregnacies went very well I had a vaginal birth with my first my second was twins on of the twins had a knot in her cord so they gave me a cesarean and my last baby the just gave me a cesarean because i had one before now this is my forth pregnancy and last everthing is going great and i want to at least have a trial labor but iam hoping for a natural vaginal birth but my obgyn is not to happy with a decsion my husband is behind me 100% what do you think and do you think we should get a midwife?
SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY!!! And I know about all the pros and cons, risks and everything!!!

My daughter is learning culinary arts at a high school career center. Her friend told me that my daughter said to her that they are going to do some wine tasting. Now, I know that the chef that is training them would never allow them to do anything illegal.

But, we are Mormon (which I think she told chef in the first week of school), and we don't drink alcohol. However, I know that, as a chef, she might be cooking with wines, at least in training.

One suggestion that I heard was that they taste but do not swallow. But, I don't know if even that is good or not.

And maybe I'm borrowing trouble. but, I just want some advice. Thanks.

And, please, no Mormon bashing!

Ok it is nearing to when my periods are due- 30th Sept. My husband and I have sex every other day and had sex on ovulation 16th Sept. Taking herb- angus catus sorry if wrong spelling! Really tried to relax this month as well. No real signs of pregnancy yet. Is it too early to tell? Any advice would be great thanks x

I just had a premature baby girl, I was 23weeks pregnant, my baby will be in the hospital until December, she just had a heart surgery and I will need to stay home with her until she turns one, she will need extra care and I have disability until October 25th. I’m 18, and my ex boyfriend and I broke up last summer like in 06. We only dated for like 9 months, but we acted like we were married, to the point where his family thought we would. Some thing Is just not right, and I really need help with solving this! I had a ring, we rushed into everything. Had unprotected sex.. And one day he just changed, and all of a sudden the family that loved me so much hated me. He deicide to break up with me over my work phone, and threaten me.. So that night I went to his house and dropped his stuff off with one of my friends, some one keyed his car n blamed me ( I think it was someone in his family) I had a positive pregnancy test and I told him, we were at his brothers house and they asked me to go to food lion to get them sweet tea, so I did. And when I came back there was a EPT sitting there and I had to take it. So I did, and it came up negative ( so they said).. One day we were at the baseball fields watching his 6 year old nephew play baseball and his aunt showed up and ran up in front of everyone and started screaming and yelling all the kids were looking, just because of me? I walked away and from him. Well I haven’t had my period scene then, and I have gained a lot of weight in general.. Its been like 15 months, I don’t understand anything that is going on..when I lay down and look at my stomach its always jumping, constantly.. If I touch it and I “am ticklish” the other side of my stomach will jump and its all weird..I pee really thick, and sometimes I have a lot of thick gue it seems like..
My ex boyfriend also spread a bunch of rumors about me, so I can’t go to anyone.. It will just get back to him.. Please help me

My 5 month old is on solids now. I have been feeding him about 1 tablespoon of rice cereal in the morning and 1/2 of a 2.5 container of veggies at night. He also has five 6oz bottles a day. Am on the right track with a feeding schedule. I know that there is no fixed schedule but I was curious if this seems about right. He has been a little constipated so sometimes I give him about 1-2 oz of diluted prune juice as well. Oh...he's a big boy weighing 18 lbs and is 28 inches long. Thanks for the help.

I really don't know a lot about the laws regarding adoption. I have looked up some stuff here and there and have tried some things but haven't gotten too far. My adoption was arranged before I was born. My mother was only 16 and her parents wouldn't let her keep me. I was born in Illinois in 1985, so I am 22 now. I also found out I have a half sister who was born in 1983. My adoption was a private adoption which is no longer legal. The lawyer who handeled the case was an older lady and she is now deceased. I tried to get in contact with her family to get ahold of any paperwork but I couldn't reach anyone. I have talked to the hospital I was born at and they have not helped me at all. My mother did sign papers that said once I turn 18 I could contact her. Apparently there is a paper with her name address and some other info that I can get, but I don't know how. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
