The reason Im asking in the pregnancy part of answers, is because I didn't get any answers in women's health, and I know you girls are on here all the time. I lost my twins3 weeks 3 days ago on Aug. 26th, naturally I have been bleeding since. On Monday, I passed a large piece of tissue, about the size of your hand spread out...I gave it to the OB/GYN, and hes sending it off for testing, along with something else he removed during a pelvic exam. I am just curious if anyone else has experienced this, and would like to share with me what happened. They said at the time of birth, that both placentas delivered intact. So I'm just wondering what I passed. And if I will have to have a D & C done to remove more tissue even though both babies, and placentas seemed to come out fine. I'm also having kinda bad cramps along with the bleeding, is that normal after childbirth?

I lost my baby at 22 weeks and I had a lot of cramping and bleeding for about three weeks. Even though you delivered the placentas intact, you could have had a ruptured placenta or your just bleeding a lot and building up a lining already. I would relax until your doctor gets back to you. If they are concerned about the tissue, then they will probably order a D&C. Sorry for your loss and my thoughts are with you.

I had a 19 week stillborn, but the baby had to be removed by d&e. I had cramping, bleeding and clots for a week or two after, but not quite like your experience. In my opinion I would have the d&c, its best to make sure that you are 100% back to normal.

I am sorry for your loss. There is nothing I can say or do to help you feel better, just know that time will dull the pain. Your babies will always be your babies, and they will hold a place in your heart for the rest of your life. God bless you and speed your recovery.

I am so sorry for your loss hun. I wasn't quite 20 weeks when I lost my baby. It is very normal to have bad cramps along with the bleeding. Also the D&C is standard procedure after about 8 weeks gestation even if it appears that everything has been passed. There are still tissue that can be retained that for you health needs to be removed to prevent infection and infertility.
Hang in there!

Having a nonetheless born does no longer mean the probabilities are hereditary and it is def not for your fathers side. The danger you're going to have one may be very small at this factor if you're healthy.
