Is so annoying. I am in 7th grade, yet when I'm in her class I feel like I'm in 1st grade. It's SO annoying! She always gives us these packets to do in class and then she sits on her butt and does nothing. If she's not on the computer, she's ridiculing how all our work is wrong - even though most of the time I'm right and had down EXACTLY what she said. I have 2 really good examples...

1) Today we had a huge test that took up all day (DRA), so while it was study center, they gave us the choice to go outside. My friends were at the choir room getting some Info. when they made this announcment. I went up to my math teacher and said "Uh, I know my friends will want to go outside, so can you tell them when they get back?" and she said yes, so I told her their names. Anyways, when they got their she wouldn't let them come outside!!!! She completely lied to me and then called my one friend a lier when she went to the bathroom a few minutes after asking to go outside. I don't get it!

A couple of months ago I reluctantly agreed to my daughter’s request, and took her to have her ears pierced. She has now passed the six week “induction” period so she can, and does, change them.

Seeing how easily she changes them, the fact her earrings look so much better than my clips, and that she insists she can’t even feel she has them in keeps making me think I should have had mine done years ago.

I don’t want to just go and get them done, because I don’t want her to get the feeling that she can’t have anything I don’t, but I was thinking next time she shows me a pair of earrings (which she does about 3 times a day) holding them against my ears and asking her if I would suit my ears pierced. If she says yes, then just say ‘nah, I’m too scared’ then if she tries talking me into it, asking her if she would come and hold my hand. If she says no, then I stick to my clips for at least a few more months.

Would taking your Mum to get her ears done be 'special' to an 8 year old?

I dont have many children around to compare progress and i am really curious. My baby boy is 1 yr. 11 mos. old. He seems really intelligent on alot of things but honestly im not sure if thats average or if he might be behind in other things. A little detail about him:
-He understands almost anything you tell or ask him to do.
-He speaks alot of words like " Mama, Dada, Please, Help, Doggy, Snack, Moon, Home, etc,.." but most are kind of mumbled, we can understand but others not so close to him might not understand right away.
-He does not use sentences. Mostly its 1 word sometimes maybe 2.
-He knows most colors visually but doesnt speak them.
-Has been literally running since 8 mos. and hasnt stopped yet!
-He is great at problem solving, reasoning, etc,.. (Great at putting shapes in right places, opening doors, opening jars/bottles, i cant think what else but sometimes i am amazed.
Please someone let me know where he is at development wise, or show me where to look. Thank you!

surname is Brown,
the conditions are :
1. UN-common, unusual. I don't want him being one of 5 in his class with the same name.
2. no last names as first names (eg Hunter, Riley, etc)
3. nothing invented, weird, or bogon.
4. no American state names
5. Could be traditional and old fashioned but not poncy like Sebastian or Xavier.
6. No biblical names like Noah, Joseph.
6. Think: Cool, original, different.

Thanks!!

I am just curious how that works, is it ever classified a pre-exsistiong condition or is it if you go to the dr. and you're not pregnant then go back and the insurance company denies you? Or is this for new paitents to the insurance company? I am really curious how this works.

I got a newborn (2 months) and me and my girlfriend have to work fulltime. I notice that child care is expensive. Any programs in California available that help parents out for child care?

I'm 22 weeks pregnant and just found out that it's a boy on Monday. I already have a 2 1/2 old son named Tyler James and I just wanted some opinions on some names for my second. The middle name stays Michael in honor of our friend who recently passed away (8/14/07) due to a drunk driver. So I want opinions on how the first name goes with my first son's name. Thanks!!

Riley Michael
Jacob Michael
Zachary Michael

Also if you have any name suggestions, I would love to hear them. Some unusual but not off the wall but not TOO common.

i've had 2 miscarriages, one in april and one in august(last weekend) and my OB/gyn referred me to a specialist so he can run some tests on me to figure out what is wrong and he is going to do this one procedure. It involves injecting water into my uterus and taking x-rays to see if i have any abnormalities of the uterus. Has anybody/anybody you know had this done before?? was it painful, uncomfortable or for the most part ok?? Im really nervous because i've never been thru something like this and dont know of anybody that has...please no rude answers!

is in 7th grade this year and has always been a good girl. This year, it seems that alot of her friends are being allowed to date and my rules don't allow this until she's 16. Alot of these girls have been her friends since she was in kinder and she is very close to them.
The problem I having is she is starting to lie to me about things and become very defensive and even cry when I ask her questions about her friends. I don't want to be a total butt and change schools on her, but if the behavior keeps up, I may have to use that alternative. I know this type of thing is in every school, and it wouldn't absolutely solve the problem, but I just can't sit around and watch her slip away. 12 years old is too damned young to be dating! I stand by that with every bone in my body. I can not and will not compromise the rules of our home to make her happy. How would you handle this?

Since my 3 boys' names end in -er (Carter, Tyler, and Spencer), I'd like my seconds daughter's name to end with -lin (my first daughter is Kaylin). I'd like it to be -LIN, but if it has to be spelled -LYN or -LEN to look better, it won't be the end of the world.

Also, if you would like to suggest ANY girl's names you think would go good with Carter, Kaylin, Tyler, and Spencer - please do!

My son is eight and he said that his coach’s breath always smells like beer? Initially, I wasn't concerned because practice starts at 6:00 and maybe the guy has a beer after work. But... this weekend they had a game at 8:00 am and he said he smelled beer on his breath again? Deep down it really bugs me! My husband said maybe he had a drink the night before and he still smelled like it. My gut tells me he has a drinking problem... nobody smells like beer all the time.. what do you think?

My 3 year old niece that lives with me, has made a very nice friend, but her friend's mom is very rude. At first she seemed sweet, but then I relized she was very mean. When she dropped her daughter off for a sleepover, it finally dawned on her I'm a single parent (she doesn't know that I'm getting married) and that I have different teaching styles. For instance I let my 20 month old and 3 year old play with Barbies, but her mom thinks they set out a bad example. She called on her child every 20 minutes until I polietly asked her to stop. Her daughter has been to other sleepovers and she had been over my house sevral times and has spent the night before.

Now the mom makes nasty comments about my life and when my niece goes over her house she ignores my daughter. One time I was with them at a play date and she said to her daughter "*Brookie would you like some chocolate chip cookies?" (*=Name has been changed) and her daughter will say sure and then my niece will asks if she can (c)

Well my daughters a week old and earlier today my mom offered to take my daughter for a couple of hours ( sounds great right) so i can get a little bit of sleep. The thing is if my mom takes her for a few hours she wants to take her to her friends house. But her friends's house is extremly dirty ( i dont mean to sound mean). Her friend's house has ants & stuff. I REALLY dont want her to take my daughter there but then again my mom is really exited about it. How should i politely tell my mom thanks but no thanks. I dont know if it matters but i am only 15 ( dont worry im still in school) & my mom is kind of strict. But she's MY daughter & i dont want her to get sick. Any advice would be great thanks.
Oh my mom & her other friends have tried to tell the other friend ( the one with the dirty house) that she needs to clean her house but does she listen? No.. but she is a wonderful lady.
