My father called and told me on my way to work this morning! YAY! The baby was due around labor day (Sept. 3rd) and it is Aug. 23rd....what complications might the baby have by being early? Also, she had to receive (2) epidurals..what could be the reasons why the first one didn't take? Thanks!

So, I am due to get af tomorrow and this morning tested positive on a hpt (faint, but pink and definately there- my husband even confirmed...). I don't want to get excited since I haven't even missed my period yet. My question is, should I call my doc now to get it confirmed, or wait until Monday?

I had my baby almost 3 months ago. I had bleeding after baby for the whole 6 weeks then at week 7 I got what seemed to be a period, a lot different from the postpartum bleeding. I have now missed a period, I am a week late, I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone, I know that periods can take a while to start up again, but mine started up and now I am late. I have been on birth control pills and using other forms of protection. THanks!

My son with be starting kindergarten next week, His classes begin at 7:43 am, he is 5 years old. I remember going to school at 8:30 9 o'clock, when I was in elementary. I think this is WAY to early to get your 5 year old child up for school. Does anyone agree?

I'm moving to the states in a couple of months and I've read that breastfeeding in public is illegal in some states. I've done some research and all I've found are laws that say just the opposite. Has anybody encountered a problem while breastfeeding in public?

Has anyone gained 20 or less lbs during pregnancy and had over a 6lbs baby? How is this possible when you consider the weight of the placenta, amniotic fluid, etc. If this has happened to anyone did you actually weight less after delivery than you did before you got pregnant. The only way I thought that this was possible is if you lost weight and then gained an additional 20 lbs. Can someone explain...or give details on your experience. Thx!

Yesterday was my last day at work and my co-workers gave me a baby shower. Now I'm thinking about the Thank you notes . A friend told me a big fruit basket with one thank you card adress to everybody will be fine. Do you think individual cards will be better?

I read the label and it has milk ingredients in it and cream....but it says its a 6 mth food. I thought that you couldn't give your baby milk products until over a year?

Do you allow your teenage daughter /son to have their boyfriend or girlfriend sleep in the bed together?? Some of my friends seem to think this kind of thing is ok and its no big deal. She allowed her 16 yr old daughters boyfriend to come along on vacation and they slept together in the same bed. Call me old fashion but I think this is crazy. Shouldnt the parents be teaching values, morality, etc.......

I have extremely irregular menstral cycles. I can go 3 months without a period. I once heard that having irregular cycles means you don't produce a lot of estrogen, which may make it harder to conceive. Does anyone know if this actually is true?

My sister and sister in law both get SS checks evey month because our mothers have died and killed. But my parents or my sil dad doesnt let them have the money or even put it in seperate accounts for them. I didnt see any of my check until I was 16 after my car was paid off. But my sisters both have cars and jobs and dont get any of it. My husband and I have a 10 week old daughter together and I feel like he doesn't pay a lot of attention to her. When I ask him about it he just says it's because she is so little right now. I think this is a sorry @ss excuse ! On the other hand he pays soooo much attention to his 9 year old son from a previous marriage it's rediculous. He goes to get his son every other weekend in another state (150 miles away) but he won't even go pick up our daughter from the babysitters after work for me (it's only 5 miles from our house). I don't feel like he if being fair to our daughter, she don't get anywhere near the attention his other kid gets. I feel bad for feeling like this but it is becoming a big problem for me! He acts like our child is not as special to him and that makes me sad and mad as h3ll at the same time. Do you think it's just because our daughter is so little and he's telling the truth, or is there more to it? Or am I just making a mountain out of a mole hill?

My hubby and I have been TTC for over two years now. We've been married over five years. As much as I really want to start a family, I've recently just become filled with fears of money problems. I hear how much kids cost and it scares me. We're not poor, but we're not rich, and sometimes I fear we just don't have enough money for kids yet. These fears are making me sick. I try to talk to my hubby about it, but he wants kids so bad and he just says 'oh you'll never have enough money'. Which of course, isn't making me feel any better. I don't know if I'll ever feel ready finacially to be honest! Any advice? Thanks.

My five year old daughter has a bad habit of picking at threads, stickers, etc. She also loses pieces of toys. She constantly ruins of destroys new items I buy her. I know she isn't doing it to be mean, but I need to let her know this isn't acceptable. I've tried to tell her to be more careful and then move on, but it just keeps happening. I don't know what kind of discipline this warrents, but I want to get the point across. Help?

I woke up this morning to the WORST diaper EVER.It was green liquid like and had little yellow curds and it was everywhere, it exploded out of his diaper, onto his stomach,and back! I had to bathe him to get it off.
He is mostly breastfed with an occasional few ounces of formula....a few days ago we bought a different kind of formula (went from enfamil lipil to enfamil gentlease) and he came down with thrush so he has had a little more formula to eat than I would like (my nipples are killing me!)

I don't drink milk ( too expensive) and I haven't eaten a lot of dairy since he was born.maybe a yogurt or two....

so why did he have this massive explosion of diarrhea?? You think it is the formula? should I stop it?

(we are going to the doctors in 2 hours for the thrush so I will def. be asking the doctor but was just wondering what other moms thought)
