My best friends went into premature labor with my new niece and she had to have a c section to deliver the baby. Her daughter is 1 lbs and 3 ounces and is very tiny. She wants me to help her decide between 2 names. the baby's middle name is going to be Destiny no doubt about it. The baby has a 50/50 % chance of living. We need help deciding between the first names. And her nurses keep bugging her for a name
Keyana Destiny and we would nick name her Yana or Keya
or Jalena Destiny and would nick name her Lena which i think is very pretty.

Her older sister is 8 months old and her nameis Aliyah Jayde

Any help would be greatful could you please help us decide between Keyana and Jelana!

What would you do?
I am due on March, so we will not know the sex of our baby for another 8 weeks. We are picking out names, and we have a major disagreement. If it's a boy, he wants it to be the 5th.
The middle and last name I agreed to, but not a 5th, as his first name is Lewis. What do you think? I don't even call my fiance Lewis, I have always called him Joey, just like the rest of his family. His father is deceased, as he is the only male left in the family. Hopefully it will be a girl, (the third gir!) but if it's not....... is this unfair of me? I really do not like the name, nor do I like the idea of the 5th, 6th, and so on.

My friend needs to put her 2 1/2 yr old in daycare for 1 week next week, because her regular sitter is going out of town. She needs somewhere nice, but not rediculously expensive, in Tallahassee, Fl. Thanks!

We were at the swimming pool club and a 9 yr old boy was screaming in my son's face to move out of his way and my son just punched him right in the face. The kid took a few steps back and seemed like he was hurt but he didn't cry or anything. And then after that moment he was totally kissing my son's butt and not trying to bully him anymore. I went over and scolded my son mildly but I was so happy and proud of him I wished I could have given him a pat on the back and said good job son!

How would you have reacted? Would you have punished your son, would you have done the same as me and said a few words to him? Would you have been as proud as me?

A little over a week ago I found lice in my 3 year old daughters hair, I checked the two boys and they did not have it. I got a shampoo perscribed by the doctor, washed everyones hair (I washed my daughters 3 times), washed EVERYTHING in the house in hot water (took all day), sprayed everything and so on. Yesterday I took my 3 & 4 year old to get their hair cut and they both had it!!! I don't know what to do to get rid of it!!! I am a single mother who is having to miss work Again to take care of this, and I just want to make sure that it is gone this time, does anyone have any suggestions (they can not obviously go back to daycare with any nits so it needs to get rid of it all in a short amount of time). Thanks everyone

What do you think of Evan and Ella? Are they too similar? If yes then what are other options of names that sound nice together?

stats:
- she had her baby 2 days ago
- no epidural
- she was in labor for only 7 hours (labor - from the time her first real contractions started at home till she delivered)
- she only pushed for 20 minutes
- it was her first baby
- she walked on the tredmill for one hour daily, and in the summer she swam for one hour daily (if weather permitted)

so do u think that's why she had such an easy labor? Does that beg to say that sedentary pregnant women can have longer labors?

thanks

Can i eat aubergine while pregnant?
My friend says that its the same as eggplant and that i can't eat it because it could make me go into pre term labour.
Does anyone know if this is true / untrue. So many myths around i don't know what to believe.
Oh I'm 32 /33 wks pregnant, going for a meal and a friend is cooking - don't want to offend her by not eating it on the night lol i'd rather tell her before hand!

My son has an overwhelming interest in tv. If the tv is on, he is watching it. Sometimes he will look away from it to play with the toys on his matt, but the tv is of more interest most of the time. I have found that if I want to get his full attention for a period of time, I have to turn the tv off.
This is a plus at times because I am a single mom and it keeps his interest when I need to do a few chores, but I was just wondering if there are any adverse effects from it?
Should I let him watch it when he wants? He gets alot of attention from myself and his mammaw and pappaw while I am at work, so he isnt without human stimulation, but I dont want to do anything that will harm him later on.
Is this normal at his age?
And, have there been any adverse effects noted to tv watching in kids such as autism?
Thanks to anyone with any good or bad info on this subject.

My son has been day trained for almost a year (he just turned 3). We still have to put a Pull-Up on him for overnight though. We have put him to bed in underwear and it is just night after night of getting up to change his clothes and sheets. He is a heavy sleeper. Any suggestions?

My daughter is 17 months old, and for the last 4-5 days she has had loose stool. Well I havent really worried about it untill yesterday.. Tuesday night my sister changed her diaper and it was a mustard yellow color with kind of a cottage cheese look. Then when she woke up yesterday morning it had a black tint to it.. Later that evening it was kind of black and yellow mixed.. Last night at about 4 in the morning she was dirty once again and it was the black tint again.. When her daddy changed her later it was brown and yellow with the cottage cheese look.. That was at 8 am.. My sister just changed her once again, and it is still loose. Still has the cottage cheese look, but is once again yellow. The only difference now is it has a really fowle smell to it.. We are taking her into the doctor at 3 to find out what is going on, but I am worried, and was just wondering if anyone elses toddler has had this problem, and if so what did it turn out to be??
