My son is usually a very well behaved little kid, its just recently that he has been acting up. I am a good mom and I really dont appreciate anyone doubting that, and he has been disciplined before all of this occured. But my normal stuff isnt working anymore.. So before you go off claiming that i dont discipline my son that isnt true, he is disciplined. Just acting up for some reason, like i said he is blaming it on others, and not taking responsibility for his actions.

Instead of always punishing him for bad behavior, try rewarding him for being good. get a jar and a bag of marbles or micro machines. let him put one in the jar every time he gets a good report at daycare. when the jar is full give him a reward that you have specified from the beginning would be his reward. Give him a reason to be good. It works for us. Of course he still needs to be punished for being naughty. Take a marble out each time is is bad.

At some point in time all children act up it is how you deal with it. Talk to him let him know that Mommy is not happy with his behaviour. Ask himif he would like to be at another nursery, ask him what makes him be naughty. Children usually open up and talk especially when you are not angry just tell him you want to understand he may be 5 but 5 year old are very smart and can tell you alot if you just take time to listen. And as someone earlier said reward him when he does something good like take him for icecream if he tidies his room and puts away his toys when you ask then he will be more willing to be nice. All the best!

Well you should have started the discipline when he was younger, and maybe now you wouldn't have this problem. Some parents think is funny when their kids do something that they know is wrong an that encourages them t keep on doing it. Good luck its gonna be hard to get him to be good but you can do it. JUST DON'T GIVE IN

♥ Try the "naughty spot". Make sure when he does something wrong that you get down at eye level and tell him direclty what he did wrong. Sit him in the "naughty spot" for 5 minutes [[because he's 5]]. Most likely he'll get up for the first week or so... when this happens put him back in the "naught yspot". After he learns to sit there for the 5 minutes & he's ready to get up, get back down on his level ask him to say he's sorry and tell him you love him. This always seems to work on Super Nanny [[or Nanny 911]].... lolz...

take the bike and tv away for more than a few minutes or a day try a week, remove the tv from his room. get firm and consistent hes acting out because he knows he can your not standing firm your caving cause he whines or cries. ground him. timeouts no snacks no treats nothing fun.

now that my son is starting school his punishments will be school work. like writing letters when he his older it will be sentences

discipline would have been a good start a lil earlier in life but its never to late. i make my 5 year old son get on his knees in the corner of the kicthen floor for no more than 5 min. spanking is my last resort.

give him a good swat on the butt (just one) if you have never done it, it will surprise him. im going through the same thing with my daughter. she is 4 (5 in dec). if you do decided to swat him make sure that you are calm, based on my past expierence, swat once, tell him why you did it and have him apologize. later in the day if he starts to act up ask him what mommy did when he started acting up and hopefully he will remember and stop
