I would wait a few years until he is definitely old enough to make this decision. If he has this done now in 5 or 10 years time he might well regret it. He likes the idea now, but does he really understand what it entails? Children go through fads but they will grow out of it. If he is insistent and you too agree with it then i would only have one done, both ears pierced on a little boy doesn't look good.

Too young for even one ear in my opinion! Some boys really suit a piercing but to me, and not just for boys, is the thought of it geting caught while they're out playing or tumbling about. Just fills me with dread. I know how sore I'd feel it if I got an earring ripped out. I see wee girls with danglers and it's just ac cringe factor for me. So yes - since you ask - it's too young. Maybe one in a few years then he can decide if he really does like it after all rahter than getting both done and hating it. Some schools don't allow any jewellry at all for PE lessons so there's always that hassle to think about.

I don't believe that it is my choice to make. The human body is a naturally beautiful thing and a babies body is pure. My ears were pierced when I was a few years old. I never valued them because of it and I only wore jewelry in them because I didn't like the empty holes. Ive had 21 piercings. I now only have a fraction of them because I simply grew out of them. Its an individuals choice and not one to be made by someone else, even if they birthed you. I won't be piercing my daughters ears. I definitely wouldn't pierce a sons.

I think it is too young. My son is five and doesn't even know what an ear piercing is, let alone the implications of having it done. Wait a while. His ears will still be there in 5 years or so!

personally, i say NO WAY.... he is too young to have 1 ear pierced not to mention both ears being pierced. there would be a slim chance that i might would change my mind when he's 15 or so. he is just too young right now, his ears problay hasn't even finished growing. have you thought about his little ears getting an infection?? that's something you need to think about being his mom and a responsable ADULT.
sure, kids can pester the heck out of you when they really want something. but, we as PARENTS have to step up to the plate and do what is right, NOT what is wanted.

5 is way too young for pierced ears! He will change his mind in a week. And schools don't tend to like it, and it hurts and takes a while to heal.

My 6-year-old wanted a temporary tattoo, as we were on holiday I let him, he scrubbed it off after 2 days coz he got bored of it.

Why don't you look at alternatives if you like it that much, such as magnetic earrings? That way if he gets bored there's no harm done.

ick. That's all I can say. Sorry, but I'm just not into boys having pierced ears to begin with, especially at such a young age. I saw one who had to be at least 5-6 not too long ago, and I cringed.

IF he's happy to do so and you've explained that they'll need cleaning and turning everyday then why not. After all piercings can be taken out if he doesnt like them after a while!

But Id be careful safety wise such as studs not hoops, covering with plaster esp whilst they're healing when he goes to school, etc.

Another alternative is just get one first see how he feels after that then get the other done!

He's to young. And having a boys ears pierced is just setting him up for torture when he goes to school. He's only 5, he doesn't know what he wants.
