How about Jack and Ella? I think Evan is a little too similar to Ella. Jack is a nickname of John, and Evan is the Irish variation of John.

Hi,
I think the names are lovely and are not too similar! I love the name Ella. My friend had twins too and called them Ella and Ellis!
Another suggestion is Ella and Ethan
Or Mollie and Matthew ect!

Why do they need to sound similar? They have the same birthday, they will always be taken as an item, they will share lots of things... why not giving them something different? Different sounding names? My husband is a twin and his name is William Alexander. His twin is Victoria Jane. I think both of them have wonderful, classical, elegant names. And they can be called Will or Alex (in the boy) or Vic, Tory, Vix, Jenny (in the girl) when they are small. Good luck.

I think they are too similar. Pick names that are more different.
Alex could be a boy or a girl's name... too ambiguous. Don't do that one!
I like Evan (it's my brother's name), but Ella is too popular right now.

Keep Ella!
Evan-I do not like this name because at my school there was a "gay" child named Evan he hung out w/all girls and sang in choir (he got a girl in the solo).
How about Ella and Oliver (Ollie as a baby).

Once the child is born you will began to both think of it and speak of it using this name that you choose. This name will be PERMANENT.Why not give the child a name with meaning and with hope and power in it?All of the things that you say, your words every day, these are important and there is a powerful force at work in these words that is unseen.Name your child something with meaning that will reinforce the good and positive things in its life and give the child a name that the child will like even as an adult.I hope someday to have a daughter, and when I do have her,the name is ready and waiting. We will name her BELA,which means "pretty".As her middle name,EPHIPHANY,which means "awakening"(such as the awakening experience we enjoy when we first begin to know that there Is a "GOD").Just do some research into the MEANINGS of whatever names you are considering. My name is WAYNE,which simply means"WAGON",,,,but a wagon is always used for hauling heavy loads.I have worked very HARD all my life. My friend is named CHRIS,,,this name means" the one who bears the light". Ben or Benjamin means "most beloved son". Donna means"little girl". Jessica means "jewel of great value".You might do a GOOGLE search about "baby names",,or even better "biblical names". Look in your search for the female version of the husbands name,or the male version of the wifes name. THINK ABOUT IT!
