Did you tell your doctor about the abortion? He needs to know that this is not your first pregnancy. You will need to have a shot at some point in your pregnancy. Years ago it used to be really dangerous, but now it is pretty easy to take care of. What happens is if you are pregnant with a baby who has positive blood and you have negative blood then the next time you get pregnant if the baby has positive blood then your body will not accept the baby's positive blood and then it will destroy the baby's blood. It doesn't matter if the first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, abortion or birth. But if you get the shot then you shouldn't have any problems. You will also not have any problem if the baby has negative blood, but you should still have the shot especially if you don't know the blood type of the first pregnancy. Just talk to your doctor about this as soon as you can. He can give you more information about it and set your mind at ease. It is possible for you to give birth to a healthy baby. My mother in law has negative blood. She had her children before they did the shot and was worried that something would be wrong with my husband, but luckily he also has negative blood. I also know of a few people who have had to have the shots and have had perfectly healthy children. Just talk to your doctor and try not too worry too much. Everything will be ok.

First of all calm down. It is not good to be stressed when you are pregnant.
With your blood type being neg and your husbands pos, there can be negative consequences if you are not monitered carefully by your doctor. What happens is that your blood cells will try and attack the baby's red blood cells which can cause the baby to need a blood transfusion. But before you start to worry, your situation is very common. You will just need to be watched alot closer and your doctor will also end up giving you a shot called a rhogam shot to prevent any problems with you or the baby. If you are still worried, the best thing is to talk to your doctor who will be able to put your fears to rest. I wish you the best and hope everything turns out okay.

I had the same issue during my pregnancy. I am negative and the Daddy positive. I was given shots of Rogam (sp?) to counteract any problems of the blood mixing and clotting during birth and the doctor was not at all concerned. People don't get blood tests for marriage licenses any more so a lot of people don't know this might come up. How could they if they never knew their blood type? I think it is rather common. Don't worry but talk to your medical doctor and get comfortable with the steps that will be taken to ensure your baby's healthy birth.

You can have a perfectly healthy baby. The ONLY medications you should be taking are prenatal vitamins and Tylenol for headaches, etc. Other than that do not take anything unless your doctor tells you to do so. The next thing is to call your doctor and make an appointment for as soon as possible. They will be able to advise you about the rest of the things you should be doing to have a healthy successful pregnancy such as diet and exercise.

Your blood type doesn't matter. What does is your RH factor. If you're Rh negative (like me), they will give you a shot of RhO-gam which protects your baby's blood if he or she is Rh positive. Your blood may detect that your baby is positive, thus creating antibodies that will attack your baby's blood. That is what the shot is for. You will receive that around 28 weeks and again before / right after delivery. Here's more information on the Rh factor:

I'm not quite sure what your question is, but if there's an issue your doctor will figure it out. Therer's no reason why you won't have a healthy baby because of blood type. If it's an Rh factor, you'll just get a shot and everything will be fine.

I learn this a on an identical time as in the past and that i did no longer comprehend the reason or i could inform you. i could bypass with what your time-honored practitioner recommends by way of fact they do no longer comprehend adequate approximately it to comprehend regardless of in case you're able to strengthen antigens or no longer. while you at the instant are not responding to common medical look after anemia, ask your time-honored practitioner for a referral to a hematologist. there's a great form of stuff approximately blood that the time-honored Joe Public has no clue approximately by way of fact they're nonetheless taught simplistic crap in college that's no longer even precise. working example, did you comprehend you are able to exchange blood form? Betcha did no longer comprehend that. to boot, you've gotten a thoroughly different blood form out of your mothers and fathers or grandparents. merely one parent has to hold the gene for a blood form and that could bypass various generations. DNA has incredibly performed lots to make up for undesirable technological awareness.
