I had my baby almost 3 months ago. I had bleeding after baby for the whole 6 weeks then at week 7 I got what seemed to be a period, a lot different from the postpartum bleeding. I have now missed a period, I am a week late, I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone, I know that periods can take a while to start up again, but mine started up and now I am late. I have been on birth control pills and using other forms of protection. THanks!

Are you nursing? Usually you don't start your period again until you are finished nursing. That really has an impact on when it comes. Otherwise, your hormones are just all out of whack! I have two kids, my youngest is 3, and I honestly just now started getting normal again as far as timing. I will say though, that we are all different, so who knows how long it will take your body to readjust. Good luck.

Theres nothing wrong with you. You have had a baby, and you're on BC. It means your cycle is going to be irregular for a while.

This is totally normal, and happens to just about all women. You bled for 6 weeks, so that means you only have had a clean system for about 6 weeks. (3 months is about 12 weeks.) 6 weeks is really not long enough for you cycle to regulate at all. And its technically barely long enough to have two periods.

mine are all up the wall too - it is common after having a baby to have irregular periods as your body needs to get back to normal.
make sure you are using protection to prevent pregnancy again in the meantime - yes it can happen so quickly, and just be patient - it will all sort itself out

It's normal for your cycles to be all over the map at this point. It could take up to a year to regulate them again.
Sorry!
