Pregnancy & Parenting - 14 August 2007

I am 34 weeks prego and I absolutly hate my job but cannot afford to quit right now. I get paid excellent and have excellent benefits. Is there any stay at home moms that work from home that have any advice for me. I would love to be able to stay home with my baby after maternity leave but financially it just isnt possible. Ive searched the internet for work from home jobs but 99% are all fake. If you have any advice or know of a good work from home company please let me know. Thank you.

i have a 15 month old daughter and i cant make her stop putting things in her mouth!~ EVERYTHING goes in there from toys to paper and anything her little finger can get! Once i cached her eating the cats dried food!! and another occasion she had a penny in her mouth!!! i washed her mouth and brushed her teeth after that! im afraid she can choke one day or even get poisoned with something! PLEASE any advise!!???

Normal?? I had my daughter two years ago. I'm also wondering if it could have something to do with the fact that it was an emergency c-section and my daughter was premature. Could it be nerve damage due to the fact that it was done in a hurry?

It's not a bladder infection, as I was seen and treated for that about three weeks ago.

My almost 5 year old son has been in the "why?" stage for a long time now. Always asking "why?". He is also a child that can talk your ear off.

I know this "why?" stage is completely normal, but it can also be completely aggravating! Sometimes I just want to say "hush" or "because I said so" but I really try not to do that.

How do YOU handle this stage when you've had enough of the "why?" questions?

Any suggestions for how I can work the transition. The 7 month old will be easy (she's been in our room in a pack-n-play) it's a matter of dealing with the 3 year old. They are both girls, and the crib has been in the room the whole time. I've been telling the 3 y.o. that her sister will be sleeping the crib "soon". Also, how should I rearrange their night time routines, including reading books in bed? Should we read the books in our bed? Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

i was told by the mothercare staff and the instruction manual that the lap part of the seat belt fits under the red hooks and that the shoulder belt runs from the belt buckle directly diagonal.
ive just fitted it, and although its as tight as it will get, the lap part of the belt doesnt fit right under the red hooks, but underneath them and the shouder part goes directly diagonal locked into the red belt clamp, but is fairly loose after this back into the seat belt holder in the car.

is this the correct fitting? if not, can you suggest something?

I'm 21 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child and for some reason it looks like I'm starting to get warts on my hand ...they are little red spots that seem to have started from the inside and are trying to make their way out...and now my skin on one arm has blotchy white spots about half the size of a dime with little red spots in the center..is this more of what's on my hands? Is it just my hormones from being pregnant?

Hi,
I'm going for a Nuchal Screening scan tomorrow and will be 12 + 5 weeks pregnant. I just wondered if anyone has found out the gender this early. The scan takes around 25 minutes so i'll be having a peek myself but if professionals can't tell i'm sure I wont be.

Also, can you see much at all on a scan at 12 weeks? I has one at 8 weeks and could only see a blob with a heart beat.

ok here she is:

hi, i had sex with my boyfriend in april and then my period was about 2 weeks late but i got it and everything was normal. and then i got it the next month and it was normal and the next and i just got it again today. they have all been normal and on time except for the one that was late in april. is it possible i can be pregnant? i didn't bother taking a test cause i ended up getting my period. also the month it was late was my prom and i was kinda stressing with that and stuff, and i was stressing that i might be pregnant. but is it safe to say i'm not pregnant?

Okay. I'm a terrible parent. My 9 month old has always slept with me....and I admit, I loved the bonding. I think however it is causing her to get up more at night, plus she has started to think it is funny in the morning to do things like pull my hair and kick me to wake me up. Is now an okay time to move her to her crib. I feel guilty because this is a problem I caused. What is the best way to transition her? Also, fyi, she was 2 months early, so developmentally, she is probably closer to 7 months!

For example, I heard one story about a mother who sang a certain lullaby when her baby was in the womb. After birth whenever the baby cried or began to get anxious the mother sang the lullaby and the baby instantly calmed.
