Someone at dss also said they were giving my aunt papers to fill out so that i could live with her and go to my old school. if it takes that much time then why would they bother. school start here in like less than a week. Is it for temporary custody or what?

Unfortunately it could take a long time, because the court system moves very slow. However, I think they could arrange for temporary custody after an initial investigation of your sister or your aunt. My question would be if your sister has raised you most of your life and you have an aunt who is will to take custody of you why are you in a foster home now rather then with one of them. Every state works differently but I think the basic thing is the state will have to investigate to be satisfied they have good home, can take care of you, and you will be able to adapt. How this is done varies I am sure but there will be interviews, records check, and probably some other things. This is why it takes time. I don't mean to discourage you but it is not too good to get your hopes up that it will happen soon when dealing with the government. You best hope is they will allow you to go there on temporary basis until all the other stuff is completed. Good luck I wish you the best.

it could take months. your sister has to be evaluated to see if she is fit to have you. this takes time.

the foster parents will enroll you in school dont worry about school

the process takes awhile because they have to do a home study check your sisters financial state her home life. things like that she also has to have her home viewed to make sure its safe for you, the same for your aunt they will place you with someone once all this is dont it can take from a week to a year
