i was told by the mothercare staff and the instruction manual that the lap part of the seat belt fits under the red hooks and that the shoulder belt runs from the belt buckle directly diagonal.
ive just fitted it, and although its as tight as it will get, the lap part of the belt doesnt fit right under the red hooks, but underneath them and the shouder part goes directly diagonal locked into the red belt clamp, but is fairly loose after this back into the seat belt holder in the car.

is this the correct fitting? if not, can you suggest something?

unbuckle it, try again and if it still feels loose, take it back and get them to show you, which is what they should have done in the first place. we try lots of the same car-seats in different cars with different results. dont take any chances, although staff are trained, if the seat hasnt been tried then its just guess work. although companies have lists of what car-seat fits what car, its only a guideline and can sometimes be wrong. the only sure way is to get it shown properly. good luck

Did you check when you bought the seat that it actually fits your car? 20 of us on here could have the identical car seat but unless we have the same car then our experiences will all be very different as not every seat fits every car.
That is the first thing to take into consideration when buying a seat.
If you follow the instructions you cannot go wrong and if it is too slack, that is able to move more than just a tiny bit then chances are it is not fitting into your car right.

We went for the priori because it had the iso-fix as an option which we wanted and also because I preferred the way she fitted in it. My Daughter is very long and to me, it felt like the priori had a longer seat base so that her legs were better supported. It also fitted better into our car. Definitely pop along to Halfords though and get them to fit both into your car so that you can see how they fit and how he fits into them. My Sister has the tobi and loves it, we have the priori and love it. Both are good in my opinion.
