Pregnancy & Parenting - 5 June 2007

My question is exactly as you see it above! My two year old managed to find a ball point pen from somewhere (still no clue, or where he's hidden it now!) and while I was cleaning up the house proceeded to write on our tv monitor with it before I caught him! Please help me figure out how to get it off before his dad gets home; Steve is very overprotective of his electronics! Thank you!

I haven't been to the doctor's yet, but I think I'm only a couple of weeks pregnant. I was planning on going on a diet/detox next week, most likely a detox like the Smash Diet. Now that I'm pregnant would this be okay?Smash diet is a detox but you can still eat. For example, the first 9 days you eat only fruits and veggies, some brown rice. Then you can eat other stuff. I definately want to drop some pounds before the pregnancy weight comes. What is the best healthy way to do it? For diet and exercise.

I had a horrible birth experience with my son born 9 lbs 1 oz, 1 week overdue. I had Cholestasis, low amniotic fluid, induced labor, 36 hours with 4 hours of pushing, and a 4th degree tear that had to be resewn 12 weeks AFTER he was born because it didn't heal. Took almost a year to heal physically & more than 2.5 years to heal emotionally. Didn't think I'd EVER have another child but the desire overcame my fear. I am a petite woman but genetically prone to bigger babies. I'm 8 months along and HUGE! I don't want to go through all that trauma again so we plan to find out how large this baby is & possibly opt for a c-section. Recover from that can't possibly be as bad as what I went through but I hear so many horrible stories about C-sections - I'm scared! Does anyone have any other suggestions on my options to avoid a complicated birth? Maybe induce early but have him natural - before he has a chance to get too big? Or are c-sections really not that bad? Alex is due in 7 weeks.

hi i went for a scan today as i has stomach pains im 5 weeks and 3 days they got the heart beat so was pleased that was with the internal scanner the baby meaured 2.5mm is this normal ive looked at other peoples ones and a few seem bigger i am worried as the lady who did it wasnt very reassuring thanks

i am due in august with twins, i just found out that i am going to have a c-section regardless if they are presented head first. My doctor said she doesnt want any complications so i dont have a choice. I had my 10 month old natural and it was very painful but recovery was very very easy. Am i going to be in pain after and during???

I took it at lunch time and it was negative. about 1 hr later it says positive. i am about 1-2 weeks late and have been really tired lately.i plan to retake it tomorrow morning but for the meantime. what do you think?

Me and my husband are a young couple, been married going on 3 years and we are 21 and 23. The problem is before i got pregnant (which we are thrilled) we partied, did hard workouts, we went and did whatever we wanted. well now im 14 weeks and i dont get out of the house much.. i don't know what to do besides go for a walk and go see a movie or something. Im very bored, and its hard to be excited when their is nothing to do. We got invited to busch gardens and i dont even know if i should go.. i cant do anything but eat and walk around! any suggestions on daily activities to do? I hate feeling left out. anything wil help.

a friend of mine gave me 3 starck baby bottles she got at a yard sale...we loved them, but my sister wants to use them too and she's having twins. Where can we order more of them? I've lost all of my water weight and my fingers have went back to normal size. (I have small hands/fingers). However my wedding ring no longer fits. It's NOT because of extra weight in my fingers as my fingers are back to normal.
It's the joints in my knuckles that are swollen!!! I can't get my ring past the bones in my knuckles....not even close!

Will the swelling in my joints go back to normal?

We are planning a family trip to the beach this summer and my daughter will be 10 months at the time. I know I need to take the necessities, like diapers, wipes, sunscreen, etc, but I'm looking for things to help make the trip easier. Like things we can use instead of taking the "bigger" items.

Does anyone have any suggestions? We currently have - pack n play (for sleep) and a fisher price booster seat with a tray (for high chair.) Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

I am 23 years old, and 25 weeks pregnant. Though I have been doing my best thus far to figure a way to give this little girl the best of life and all that she deserves, and I slowly realizing that without the full support of my partner and his family, it might be best for her in the arms of a family who can truely embrace her and provide for her. This was an unplanned pregnancy and it's hard for me to even write this question. I am not dead set by any means on what I really want to do, but does anyone know on where I might best find information on placing a child for adoption? If i did go through with this, I would want to be a part of picking out the family.

i hate my f u king boss icannot take it anymore im 8 friggin months pregant hvae an EXREMELY PHYSICAL JOB. im sick of him. ive had bleeding cramping etc.. so i have had to go to the doctors a lot he keeps blowing up at me , yelling at me, acting like im lying. should i quit? These are my symptoms:
Nausea-constant-comes in "waves"
Really really sore breasts and very swollen
Late mentral cycle
bloating
mood swings
senetive sense of smell
Frequent urination
fatigue
Naturally I thought the obvious and took a HPT...it was neg.
Anyone have any ideas what else would cause this?
I have an appt tommorrow but i wanted to get an idea what to expect if anyone else has had the same prob. Thanks

please don't be such critics, answering that i or he should grow up, that we're both immature in this situation i want advises, not be judged my people.
the problem is my partner doesn't like the name i chose for our baby(I'm 5 month on the way). i'm very much in love with the name Brien(bra-yen) coz i think its unique. but my partner doesn't like it coz he said it reminds him of my ex(name's bernard).my partner's name is roderick and he said the name brien doesn't have any similarities with his name. i know he's just jealous and i can't convince him to like the name. i even told him so many times that i didn't based the name to the first initial of my ex(who i hardly think about, and i cheated just to be with my current partner, him!
what can i tell him to win this battle and convince him to like the name? i really like the name brien!

My son refused to wipe himself and he just turned four.. I'm trying to bribe him with incentives , it's not working very well. He makes me take his hand and land the way ,but will NOT try on his own! I'm embarrassed as school won't help him anymore and he comes home in soiled underwear everyday!

Let's say you're assigned two siblings with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. They are born 2 years apart. Let's say that their IQ is under 60 due to the mom's abuse. Let's say the mother is pregnant again, and you can reasonably assume she's still drinking and will continue to be irresponsible.
Can you report this as abuse to the authorities? If so, do doctors report FAS when they see it? If not, then why is giving alcohol to a newborn considered abuse if an 8-month pregnant mother can drink?
