Thanks tallgirl. The tail thing is what was bothering me. I never thought about how the tail moved!

I don't think its entirely accurate to call sperm "living things". A living thing is an organism like say, a cat, dog or even a single-cell organism. They should be able to metabolise (eat, basically), grow and reproduce. Sperm don't reproduce in the sense that they can make little sperm. Your body makes them so that you can make little versions of yourself. They don't eat or grow either.
But, they are alive. They are living cells just like your red blood cells or brain cells are alive. You can kill the little buggers with spermicide when you don't need them and you can keep them alive artificially (like in a sperm bank).

Sperm is more like a fertilizer that carries your DNA with it so it can Combine with a womans egg and make a Fetus(Little Person in Latin). So sperm by itself is just sperm untill it meets the womans eggs. Got It?

An egg is alive and a sperm is alive. You cannot get a live being out of a dead organism.

A sperm is a cell so in a sense yes but they do not eat, poop, etc. or funtion as a living thing other then to perform their one and only purpose. They are equipped with a totally involuntary tail which moves to propel them forward but they do not have "brains" to control their own movements.

No, it is a cell with half DNA coding. It can't have the neurons for it to be able to change the visual information into some sort of sense, because it's as small as those actual cells.
