We are planning a family trip to the beach this summer and my daughter will be 10 months at the time. I know I need to take the necessities, like diapers, wipes, sunscreen, etc, but I'm looking for things to help make the trip easier. Like things we can use instead of taking the "bigger" items.

Does anyone have any suggestions? We currently have - pack n play (for sleep) and a fisher price booster seat with a tray (for high chair.) Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

We've taken all three sons at or near this age. A must would be a beach umbrella. At this age children always seem to fall asleep after a while on the beach. The pack and play is a good idea but mattress on the floor (most hotels/rentals can supply) surrounded by high pillows or rolled up beach towels worked well for us (if you're sleeping in same room) and saves room on trip. If there is a pool you may want to take a floatation lined suit.

oh boy a road trip.. hehe fun fun...

Apart from what u listed above sunscreen wipes etc...

this will help take snacks like cheerios, toddler chewing bicuits, etc.... bring along mylcon, orajel, baby tyenol, beach toys like get those sand modling shapes that are plastic so ur lil one can make shapes in the sand... also bring some kind of a musical toy to help calm them in the car..... radio is good too, a hat to keep sun off baby, lil swimmers so the baby can get a lil wet in the tide:) a camera of course cant forget that lol.

bring extra formula and water for the trip just in case:)
yea a blanket umbrella and the pack n play for hotel room if using one.

hope the trip goes well...

definitely bring a hat that ties, my son is almost 11 months and he still manages to get it off. don't forget an umbrella or some type of shade for the baby. cereal is always easy to bring for a snack, or maybe crackers. juice boxes make things easier too. we brought our jogging stroller with us because it has big inflated tires and it was great for walking on the beach in the mornings. after breakfast, we'd walk on the beach and he would eventually fall asleep for his morning nap. plus, it has a place for him to sit out of the sand without you having to hold him every second and it's got the shade cover.

I'll tell you what NOT to take! BANANAS! I took some along for a snack when mine was that age and the sand became a dip for the banana!

sounds like you are already pretty prepared. all i can say is bring hand toys. when you are busy doing mandatory grown up things. ie checking into hotels or what ever. keep baby busy with hand blocks or key chain toys. snacks are a good one
