Well like everyone that answered before me said... DIETING is NOT an option at this point since you are ALREADY pregnant!! But you CAN and SHOULD start eating more healthy now since you are not only eating for you but also for your child! Any "empty calories" are unneccesary.
However, one thing that MAY help you feel better is that during your first trimester most women usually lose weight ANYWAY! There are two reasons for this:
1) The baby is taking lots of the nutrients and calories that you are putting into your body now.
2) You are going to have "morning sickness" (mine was more like ALL DAY) and all the throwing up and nausea that you will have will make you lose weight!
BUT like I said, you can start eating healthier and talk to your doctor about a good pregnancy plan for your food intake. And of course once you deliver you can go on whatever diet you want (if you are NOT going to breastfeed). If you ARE going to breastfeed then you will have to wait until AFTER you are done to start dieting... BUT the breastfeeding itself is a WONDERFULLY NATURAL way to not only lose weight but also tone the muscles in your tummy after delivery. I am not EXACTLY sure how it works... but it does! (Im sure your doctor could tell you if you asked!)
Dont worry about your weight right now! This is the ONE time in your life where you dont really have to worry about how you look!! LOL Enjoy it and whatever you do.. remember that you are eating for two now!
Have a wonderful pregnancy and God Bless!!

Sorry hun but you should not attempt to loose weight while you are pregnant!!! Especially now. This is the most critical time of development. Your baby needs protein and carbs every day to develop properly.
The best thing you can do for you and your baby is begin to eat a healthy diet. Moderate exercise would be benificial to you as well and would help you in loosing the baby weight and getting back in shape at the end of your 9 months. Start taking walks. This could help you shape up a little without harming your baby.
Here are some articles on exercise and diet. These websites have other helpful articles if these do not answer all your questions. Good Luck!

Well you should definitely talk to a doctor before you do anything. Dieting during pregnancy should be closely monitored. You could harm the baby without knowing it. Especially right now, the baby's most important parts are developing (like brain and spinal cord) so certain nutrients are needed to make sure everything develops properly. You would probably be ok with the fruits and veggies things, but in pregnancy you need to eat more carbs than usual. Basically right now, you don't need any extra calories yet. Pregnancy requires about 300 more calories a day than you would normally eat. If you are overweight, you will probably be ok with just eating healthy so you don't gain extra weight but you don't want to do anything crazy. Just talk to your doctor and he can tell you exactly what to do to lose weight safely. You don't want to take any chances, its not worth it in the long run. As far as exercise they say not to start anything new or too strenuous. Just try taking a brisk walk or riding a stationary bike until you find out what is safe for you. My doctor said those things are ok. :-) Congrats on this exciting time!

Just to be safe, it's probably better NOT to do a detox diet right now.
Instead of trying to lose weight, watch what you eat and drink through your pregnancy, to avoid gaining a lot of weight. If you are pregnant, talk to your doctor about what your ideal weight gain should be. For exercise, try walking every day, and you should be able to keep it up all through the pregnancy. Drink LOTS of water, and avoid soda. It IS possible to weigh less after having a baby then before, if you are really good about your diet while you're pregnant. I've known a couple women who've done that.

Well there is Yoga that is safe during pregnancy, long walks, swimming and just very LIGHT exercise...you are going to put on weight no matter what but you can make it between 20 or 25 with effort. That is a healthy weight.
Congrats on your baby!
Do a search on "daily calories" and see what calories you should be eating according to your weight...and keep adjusting to your weight...you want the body to work to keep off the extra weight, NOT pregnancy weight.
Then after the baby and your 6 wks check up you can get into some vigorous exercise and Breastfeeding is great for weight loss.

Avoid junk food, eat healthy, walk/exercise regularly (daily, if possible) and take your prenatal vitamins. These are the things you should do for a healthy pregnancy.
You should NOT diet. This is not the time to control your weight.
The pregnancy weight won't pile on right from the start. In fact, some women lose weight in early pregnancy because of morning sickness. If you don't have this problem, good for you. But you definitely should not be trying to lose weight intentionally, not at this time.

Any crash diet is unhealthy - especially during the early stages of pregnancy. All your baby's systems are being developed right now - and nutrition is very important to this. Not only balanced nutrition, but certain nutritients like folic acid are essential to healthy development.
So, if you want to lose weight now, the best way is to eat a balanced diet and exercise daily. It won't come off fast, but you and your baby will be healthy. You can see more information at nutrition.birthingnaturally.net.
Good luck!

It is never safe to diet during pregnancy. Doing this can cause malnutrition to your unborn child and cause low birthweights, birth defects, and even miscarriage. You should get at least 1800 calories a day if you are overweight. But choose healthier options of getting the 1800. Find foods that are calorie rich instead of empty calories. Eat an apple as a snack instead of 1 oz. of potato chips. Make sure you get at least 6-7 ounces of protein a day and plenty of fruits and vegetables and whole grains. Choose whole wheat over white bread. Changing the way you eat is okay...but dieting is not. You should not be calorie cutting. (And eating only fruits and vegetables does not provide enough protein...which is essential...for your unborn baby. The baby does not grow off your burning of fat. Also when you burn a lot of fat it releases toxins into the blood stream which can affect the baby in a negative way. )
When it comes to exercise....if you have not been doing strenous exercise on a daily basis at least for the past three months...then you do not need to start now. Getting activity in...like walking an hour a day...three times a week...is a good way to get in exercise and not overdue it.
Talk to your doctor before you do anything drastic. Even when a person is overweight...doctors will still recommend 15-20 lbs. of weight gain for a healthy pregnancy.

No, every dietician or doctor out there will tell you dieting will hurt your child and help cause misscarriages. You need to already be eatting the normal 2000 calories a day and shortly 300 extra a day and so on and so forth.
I did Weight Watchers and lost 35 pounds, I got to 165 and was 10 pounds away from my goal weight, and was doing so well I was considering trying for 150 or 145... and then I got pregnant. I was on WW my first few weeks and noticed everyday I was STARVING I nearly fainted one day until I finally took a test.
Your baby needs those fruits and veggies but you need to be eatting enough for two! Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, LA Weightloss... all remove any members the moment they get pregnant!!

You don't want to start any detox diets when you're pregnant. You should stick to the food guide pyramid, or eat a balance from all food groups. You should take prenatal vitamins, and get plenty of calcium and protein. Exercise only moderately until you talk to your doctor. Make sure you discuss any weight loss plans with your ob/gyn or midwife.
