My question is exactly as you see it above! My two year old managed to find a ball point pen from somewhere (still no clue, or where he's hidden it now!) and while I was cleaning up the house proceeded to write on our tv monitor with it before I caught him! Please help me figure out how to get it off before his dad gets home; Steve is very overprotective of his electronics! Thank you!

Hi! Thanks everybody... I actually did manage to get (most of) it off with Windex and a soft cloth. Fortunately it's not a real high tech TV, but Steve would have freaked out anyway.

Thank you all for great suggestions, I'll definitely keep them in mind in case there's a next time!

Oh dear. You could try a cotton ball with a little bit of nail polish remover, but it wont remove the scratches. Test it first on a similar surface. A Mr. Clean Eraser might also work. This might be something that he is going to find out. If all else fails just tell him, that we were planning on buying a new tv for you for father's day ;)

Okay, I'm not sure of the result this would cause on a tv screen, but Mr. Clean Magic Eraser renders even permanent markers temporary. Get the all-white kind, dampen it, lightly rub the screen, then wipe it down with a soft towel damp with water. Then for good measure, clean it with Windex.

If it's not something you can get wet, though, you're in a pickle.

If it's a regular tv, then the magic eraser should work. However, if it's an LCD or plasma, you may want to have it professionally cleaned. The pressure from rubbing it off will destroy your tv.

good luck. Daddy may have learned a lesson, don't have nice electronics while youhave kids. We want to get an LCD tv, but we havea 5 yr old and a baby on the way, so we will stick with our 10yr old set for now.

That magic eraser thing sounds cool (will have to pick one up) but if you have some vinegar on hand, give that a try.
