at 8 months i wouldn't quit - you want that insurance to help pay for the delivery and disability. however i would ask your doc to put you on bed rest - explain your job and how physical it is. after you come back then figure out if you want to quit or not.

good luck!

If you're in the US, regardless of if you quit your job or you are fired they have to offer you COBRA. Basically, your insurance is the same as what you have now, but you pay the entire premium. Most companies pay about half, sometimes a little more, so it would cost a bit more than what you are currently paying, but you wouldn't be without insurance. It can stay in place for up to 18 months, so it gives you time to find another job that offers benefits, even if they don't kick in for 90 days or whatever their waiting period may be. They should have offered you a job within the company that was less demanding when you told them you were pregnant. Making you continue your job has hurt you, put your child at risk, and hurt them too since you're having these complications due to the job. No job is worth putting your health or your child's life at stake. You may want to consider working for a temp agency until the baby is born, and then when you decide to go back to work, look for something better. That's just my opinion. Good luck and I really hope everything works out for you.

I would get a letter from your doctor showing that you are not making up your symptoms or trying to 'sneak' out on your job. I would then go to HR and request another assignment for the next month. I would tell be very professional and tell them that your boss is inclined to not believe you and has very angry over your health condition. (Use the words "health condition".)

I would say that you want to be a good employee, but that the current situation is very difficult, particularly in your current condition.

I would also come with suggestions for other roles or jobs that you could do for the next month.

tell your dr to fill out the disablitly form so you can get some pay for the next month. i did that and my job wasnt even physical actually i just sat at a desk answering phones, my dr took me off work at 32 weeks and my only complecation was gestational diabities. however you must realize that the diability pay is much less than your regular paycheck, so after the baby is born you may want to look into foodstamps, wic and or welfare. these programs are there for people in your kind of situation.

You can get notes from your doc to prove your ailments. My advice is to just take it the best you can. You can also get notes from your doc saying what kind of activity you are restricted from performing that relates to your job. If you have a docs excuse there is nothing legally that your boss can do to you. If you quit now, you will have a hard time finding other employment that will hire someone 8 months pregnant. You may, however, look into getting some medical assistance and some other programs that will assist you in surviving financially, making it possible for you to leave work. But I would stick with it if you can. Just take it with a grain of salt. He is a man and doesn't understand.

I was a waitress in 1991 in Georgia and pregnant. My boss started that crap with me and said I needed a 'paper' from my doc that said I could work. I said "@@$$%%^#$%^ you".
If your job is causing bleeding, isn't there a less physical position you can take until maternity leave is over? Before you quit and end up with no insurance, you should talk to a civil rights attorney. Really.

Can you go talk to someone in HR about your boss? Check your benefits, but you might be able to take some time off on Short Term Disability.

If you quit, it might be hard to find another employer who will obviously know you'll be needing 6 weeks off soon. Can you go on state aid until you find another job?

If your boss is being truly unfair and abusive, you may want to contact a lawyer. Keep track of every conversation and offense at work. You may find one who will take your case on contingency so you dont have to pay him until you win your case.

I would seriously quit that job or go on a maternity leave. I suprised that your doctor has not put you on bed rest if you are bleeding and are doing strenuous work. There are many of programs that you can get on for you and your baby to be. Take care and good luck to you!

Unless his tantrums are legitimate for things you are doing wrong, you should consider filing a grievance against him.

He is making for a hostile work environment and you could even file a sexual harrasment suit on that basis. But check with your HR dept first.

If my boss yelled at me I'd punch his lights out and tell him off.
No one has the right to do that to anyone, unless they are being a total A**, and it doesnt seem you are.

Good luck

go on disability you have a TOTALY legit excuse. You can find another when you ready. until then disablity and if you need to dont be afraid to utilize welfare. They have a program called welfare to work and you would be exempt from actually work for 6-12 months AFTER your baby is born and hopefully you can get by on that- not sure where you live but hopefully it can help.
