Pregnancy & Parenting - 11 February 2007

I checked the paper, put up ads. Tried teenagers (they are all in eveing and weekend sports nowadays). Raised my wage even. My daughter is very well behaved and when i did get a stitter they loved her. Also the ecomony is so bad that kids can get a job at the coffee shop for $9 an hour! I moved here 6 months ago and just can't find regular babysitters for shift work

Is this a common problem? Do you find this? I am a single mom and no family in town

Ever since my husband and I got married we made plans on all the fun things that we would do with our child(ren). Well we have a two year old son and it seems like there is no time left in the day. The past two years have flown by and not a single plan that we wanted to do has been accomplished. So we decided to slow life down a bit and try to spend more special moments with our son. I remember a few plans that we made but not many. So, what are some things that you have planned for your children or that you have done with your children?

Ok I am going on a 12 week maternity leave (currently 37 weeks pregnant) and my job needs me to go to a training class in Minneapolis (Id have to fly and stay a day or two, possibly more.) This class is needed every year and happens to fall on the time of my leave, but I have agreed to go. Its about 7 weeks after my daughters due date. I plan on breastfeeding, what can I do in the days I am gone to feed my daughter? Should I freeze my milk and have my fiance give it to her when I am gone. What is the proper way to thaw out frozen milk? Sit on the counter, put the bottle in a pan of water and boil?

I'd like to try to get him off of only milk before the summer so that he won't dehydrate while I refuse the milk! During these temperatures he can afford to not drink for a few days.

Ok her boyfriend and her took a bath together 2 days ago and he fingered her twice while they were in there but i dont think anything couldve gotten into her. She has a headache today but she doesnt think she would see symptons like nausea so soon. Would she?

On friday I woke up very early in the morning, and felt rlly sick.. i ran across the hall in the bathroom and starting throwing up. This continued all day on friday. My mom and everyone else kept telling me that i would feel better.. and probably just had the 24 hr. stomach virus.. so i assumed i would get better.
Well all weekend I have felt very weak and tired, and still very nausous.. to the point where i dont even want to eat.
Whats weird about this is its in phases .. it comes and goes, like I can feet completlely fine and then I feel really sick again.. but i feel tired most of the time.
Could this be morning sickness??
Could I be pregnant??
My last period was on January first, and i usually am irregular with my cyle, and get my period every 2 months instead of every 28 days...but since then I've had episodes of light brown spotting.. ocurring on 1/29, 2/1, and again today 2/11.

Is this all a sign.. could I actually have gotten pregnant.

I cannot take the pill, or anything that contains estrogen or other hormones ( i.e. progesterone ), it causes liver tumors, I have already had undergone two surgeries to remove them! It is a VERY RARE condition! No pill, I.U.D., depo, patch, and would prefer to not have any permanent form of birth control, as we would like to have children in a few years. After which, we will resort to a permanent form of birth control. I am engaged and both myself and my fiancee are STD FREE! We would like to have at least one day per month to enjoy sex without a condom. I would prefer answers from doctors or health care professions please! Thank you for your time!

my baby is currently on Nutramigen, i have also tried soy, gentle lease, and regular formulas. someone suggested i buy a catnip and fennel liquid mix and give him .5ml before each feeding. does anyone know anything about this or have any other suggetions. i am at my wits end.

I just posted a question about me and my fiancee having a child at a young age because his mother is going blind and i made a promise to her that she would see her 1st grandchild before she went blind. I forgot to add one thing: we have been together for a very very very long time already and we both talked about having a child before i even made a promise to her. there is a lot to this story but just put it this way... we are ready for a child because WE are ready... not we are ready because his mother is going blind. we want to have a child... not just because his mom is going blind.... and another thing... can i have positive and nice answrs this time....

I am going to take a pregnancy test in about a week and a half. I am on a generic of Ortho-tri-cyclen and I am wondering if I should keep taking it for the next week or so until I find out? Can anyone who's gotten pregnant while on the pill let me know if it's dangerous for the baby until I find out?

and the baby is moving around fine, but sometimes the movements get so violent that it looks like she's having a seisure inside my stomach?!? Should I be worried about the spastic looking movements, or is it normal? Please help!

I am 31wks pregnant and am very happy about it. I have a wonderful fiance (he really is) but boy does he annoy me!

Often i realise its for no particular reason - he just annoys me. I get so irritated with him and have to bite my tongue so i don't snap at him. On occassion even when he is talking it annoys me... simply because he is talking! Sometimes i can't get far enough away from him and sometimes i completely adore him.

I recognise this is probably hormonal - it seems the more fat and tired and uncomfortable i get the more he irritates me... but wow! The poor guy (i'm having a lucid moment right now! lol). I really feel for him (when i'm not hating him). He never says anything and takes it all in his stride .. seems to think its just part-and-parcel of me being pregnant.

Is anyone else THIS neurotic about there boyfriend/husband/fiance?

I honestly can't seem to control it - anyone feel similar? Any words of wisdom?

I just posted a similar question but figured I may have not worded it properly. My daughter is 5 yrs old and is in Kindergarten. We (her parents) were asked to send her to school on Tuesday, dressed as if she were 100 years old. {All of the Kindergartener's are supposed to dress this way} Not as if she were in school 100 yrs ago, but as if she is 100 years of age. My only idea was to put her hair in a bun and put white powder in it to make it appear whiteish. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks everyone!

My 18 month old only says a handful of words .. mama, dada, papa, baby, puppy (once in a great while), bye .. should I be worried?? She understands ALOT .. very thing I tell her she understands. If I tell her go give this to daddy .. she does .. go put on your slippers (flip-flops) ... she runs to look for them and put them on .. and on on ... I'm getting alittle worried because most of the sites I go to says toddlers at 18 months should say 20-30 words.

I am 15 and me and my mom do not get along at all.... My aunt and uncle said i can move in with them but the way the do things is a lil "Different"... my mom doesnt believe that im serious about moving how do i prove to her that I am....she gave me permission to switch schools and move but she doesnt believe ill last and she thinks ill come running back home..

October.He is 20 going to be 21 on the 25th of this month.Our parents both approve of us being together and being engaged.They both agreed that if I were to get pregnant they would be there for us.Im still in high school,doing very well.We don't want to have a baby just because,there is a very good reason.His mother is in the 2nd or 3rd stage of glycoma,and shes going blind,and it's kind of picking up fast.Not going so good.She said all she wanted before she went blind is to see at least her 1st grandchild.I madea promise to her that she would see her 1st no matter what.Before she goes blind.Now,what should I do?I am not on anything that would stop me from having a child right now.Seriously what should I do?I really need to know.I dont break promises and if I have to break a promise like this,it would break my heart.Serious answers only please.I don't know what to do? i doubt im having twins and ive had one kid already and i did the same thing gained lots at the begging, i had no problem losing the weight after my first baby lost every lbs maybe more but this time gaining the weight at begging is really really getting to me i think i just hate the idea of just looking like ive gained weight before im actually showing. I am not obsessed with being skinny but i really hate the thought of looking heavy... im going crazy...

She is 5 months old but weighs about 22lbs on the package is says to go by weight and under 24lbs ask doctor but do you think that since she is close to that weight it is ok to give it to her(only half the dosage). Thanks!!!!
