Ever since my husband and I got married we made plans on all the fun things that we would do with our child(ren). Well we have a two year old son and it seems like there is no time left in the day. The past two years have flown by and not a single plan that we wanted to do has been accomplished. So we decided to slow life down a bit and try to spend more special moments with our son. I remember a few plans that we made but not many. So, what are some things that you have planned for your children or that you have done with your children?

Not sure if this is what you were looking for, but my kids loved it.

I have 3 kids that are 2, 3 & 11. My oldest has a family activity book with great crafts the kids and/or whole family can enjoy. As your son gets older, you'll hear "I'm bored" probably more than you'd like.

Anyhow, I found an activity that all 3 of the kids enjoyed. We collected older bright solid-colored shirts (you can use new, we were on a budget) from each of the kids' drawers, laid them flat on the concrete outside and placed leaves, shells, flowers, toys and whatever else we could find scavaging around the yard. The next part (magic spray) should be completed by the adult at a safe distance from the child. My 11 year old sprayed his own shirts, but I kept the little ones away. Take a spray bottle and fill it with household bleach. Spray the shirts (with objects on top) until you see they are moist with the "magic spray." Carefully remove the objects from the shirt and watch as designs magically appear on the shirt as the bleach lightens the shirt material that was exposed. This is the part the kids really got a kick from because it works so quickly.

Once the desired effect is accomplished, I placed the shirts in a bucket of cold water to stop the bleaching and then laid them out to dry in the sun. Once dry, I washed them on a quick gentle cycle.

They really turn out cute and allow the kids to use thier imagination. It will also be fun to wear thier own shirts with a new magic design. I think the black shirts have the neatest effect as the bleached areas turned a reddish/pink and was quite a contrast to the black.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy the activity as much as we did if you decide to try it.

her father and i take my daughter to the zoo, the park, and the beach. we are outdoorsy people and enjoy the different scenes and beauty of nature and it's important that babies with their wondering eyes and minds get to enjoy that at an early age. it was cute so see her pull the grass up and try to touch bugs.. She's almost 2 and I can honestly say that she's done a lot for her little bit of time on earth.
