Pregnancy & Parenting - 3 February 2007

I just noticed that my daughter puts her tongue behind her teeth to make the "s" sound instead of behind her top teeth. She does still use a pacifier (yeah, I know, we're working on that right now), so I wonder if that has caused this or affected it. Is this a normal stage of speech development that will pass on its own, or is this something that's going to have to be addressed? Has anyone else dealt with this before? I intend to talk to her pediatrician, but we've been having problems receiving reliable information from her so I thought I'd check around with other parents, too. Any ideas?

She's on no birth control whatsoever. I know Sperm can live up to 5 days inside the cervix and a girl only ovulates 10 days after her period starts or a number in that ballpark.

What do you think of gowns for your newborn? I have heard lots of great things about them, how they are lifesavers for the middle of the night changes, but I have also heard a few bad things about how they are hard to get your baby into. They seem like a really great idea to be but I dont know how many to get? What would you sugest? Are they really needed or just another thing that was invented so mothers think they need them when they are really useless?

I am 28 weeks pregnant and I have broken out with this nasty rash. It almost looks like acne but they are very very small. They dont burst like acne does they just bleed. And Itch VERY bad..I have it all over my back, neck, stomach, chest and legs. I went to the Dr. once before (I was around 13 weeks) and they told me it was just a reaction but they didnt tell me to what. Has anyone else had this? And what can I do to get rid of it? My fiancee comes home from an overseas deployment in 2 weeks and I dont want to look like I have a disease when he gets to see me. Please Help.

The doctor said possible miscarriage or false pregnancy or nothing at all, 80 percent chance of miscarriage, I have bleeding and cramping like a period. I go for more blood work in two days to measure HCG level I'm only at I think he said 459, if it isn't at least doubled by Monday the baby isn't growing, it might be a tubal pregnancy also, but it's too early to tell. ok..ive been having symptoms that im going to start for about 3 weeks now but nothing..it started with the sore boobs,and very light cramps,almost like twinges..and i also has a bit of dull back pain wich i never get when im about to start..and now for the past week ive felt like i had an upset stomach when i woke up in the morning then it usally went away by noon.after not getting my periodi kinda questioned what if..but my periods are never to the date.there usally either 24th,26th or 28th day.and its been 35 days.i started to have really thick creamy discharge(not trying to be gross) wich ive never had befor..and then it stoped and i had really light pinkish peach spotting..for about 2/3days and it stoped yesterday. i took a test yesterday and it came out neg...i was wondering if its to early to realy tell if i am pg..and when should i take another test?

my children are 2, 3, and 4!!! I am having trouble keeping the house under control and i think a "family rule" list might help. I want to make sure it has rules for the children and the parents so the kids feel it is fair. Does anyone know of a good site to print a family rule list from or have a list i can use. There is yelling, screaming, hitting, ect. going on and there needs to be changes for EVERYONE! A list with built in consiquences would be helpful ( for parents and kids). thank you
