I believe that should be the choice of the person making the choice. I dont believe a 12 year old or any younger is capabale of making that choice and if it happened it would not be considered "sex" rather normal ... "house" between children exploring there nature ... I think the laws have become rediculious and are a mere way of a pissed off lil girl to cry rape when it was perfectly fine until things simply did not go the faerie tale way . So in short when the person has made the descsion I believe they have enough of a responsibilite in the sense they then bring upon themselves the issues of birth control , pregnancy , parenthood , emotions , STD , and general care of your body. I dont think we should be adding jail time to the load ....

Can u vote? Can u drive? Can u do anything w/out having to let a parent know what, where, when, why &how? Can you pay for a car, house, electric, food, phone & insurance? Have you finished high school or college? Do you make more than 15,000 a year? If you have answered no to any of these......YOU ARE TOO YOUNG TO HAVE SEX! Because like it or not....protected or not -- Pregnancy is ALWAYS A POSSIBILITY, not to mention all of the diseases!

All these people saying "wait until you are married" are a joke. You'll end up with somebody who doesn't know what he/she's doing, and you might not even be sexually compatable, leading to a lifetime of frustration. Try before you buy...
On the flipside, starting too early is a no-no. A while back I shagged a girl who lost her virginity at the age of 12 (she was legal at the time), and her attitude towards sex was bizarre to say the least, she kept talking about her family as we were doing it, and even texted her cousin when I was going down on her! Yes, really. And no, it was nothing to do with my technique, thanks.
I'd recommend doing it whenever you feel comfortable, totally sure you want to do it, and don't feel pressurised.

Waiting til you're married is the best way in all honesty. Realistically though wait til you're out of high school out of the parents house, have a steady income and are prepared to possible have a child. Also be ready to be able to expect any other surprises of STD's etc. So personally i can see more of waiting til marriage that way you both really truely know each other but hey just my opionion goodluck with whatever you decide to do.

I don't think there's really a certain age. However, I do think that the people having sex should be responsible enough to accept the consequences of having sex. There's risks of STDs and pregnancy. If a person cannot handle or accept having a STD, or a baby, then they shouldn't be having sex. I'd say a person should be old enough, or mature enough to be financially stable, emotionally stable, and responsible.

Married, even though I didn't wait that long, (I was 21) But I think you should at least be old enough to understand what comes with having sex...risk of HEARTBREAK, STD's, Kids........ If you are willing to accept the consequences enjoy the sex.

I definatly think you should be 18 or older but you also need to be old enough to financially support yourself and a child incase one came into play. It isn't anything to take lightly there are many things that can develop over sex especially if you are not ready. It isn't a game.
You should also be old enough to know what true love is because that is also a factor of sex.

I dont think girls should be having sex before marriage, too many girls having unprotected sex, getting std's,unwanted pregnancies etc. If a girl does decide to have sex I think at least 18,u are considered an adult at that age and know what your responsibilities are and at this age are able to handle them if u become pregnant, hiv, std's etc...
