I wish you had posted how old your baby is. If your baby is still strictly breastfeeding, then you should have at least 8 feedings in a 24 hour period, though it really doesn't matter what time they occur. If your baby is older and also has another food source, then it may be that they either are not hungry in the evening because they have already gotten plenty thoughout the day, or because they have come to associate that nursing time with bedtime and don't want to go to bed. Stressors such as a change in daily routines or an illness can cause a baby to change his feeding habits. If you feel as though your baby is not getting enough nutrition without this evening feed (like your baby is losing weight, is lethargic, something just seems "wrong") then take your baby to the doctor. Otherwise, just continue to keep offering the opportunity for your baby to nurse in the evening and see if he accepts. Good luck!

This is usually a baby's favorite time of day to nurse. Maybe your bedtime routine is so solid that baby doesn't need to be nursed to sleep. Is this related to ear pain or head congestion? Teething pain could be worse in the evening, too.

hi, well it all depends on how old the baby is. if the baby doesn't eat before bed time. the baby will wake up during the night hungry. which is ok. cause, my son used to do that all the time but now he is 2 years old.

please go back and add your baby's age.

If he or she is under a year, then i wouldn't worry, just keep offering the breast and your baby will eat when he or she is hungry. Don't offer formula, trust that your breasts work fine to take care of your little one! Women are built to do this, mama!

if your babe is over a year, he or she may be trying to wean.

The baby could be cutting teeth, could be coming down with a virus or etc, could be constipated...or could be changing schedules.
If he/she is eating enough during the day, I wouldn't worry. If you continue to be concerned, consult the child's doctor.
