during pregnancy our metabolism increases significantly.
I am 38 weeks along, and at this point in time I am weighing 8 lbs. below my pre-pregnancy weight. Considering that the baby, placenta and amniotic fluid makes up about another 15 lbs, I have probably lost 20+ lbs. I eat right, take my prenatals, and do everything "by-the-book" to take care of my baby. Some of us just lose weight.
As long as your OB feels that your baby is coming along fine, it is likely okay as long as you are not underweight. Some people just lose weight during their pregnancies. Enjoy it, it isn't likely to happen next time.

Do you see the box near the top of the page? The one labelled 'Search for questions: '? Well type in 'lose weight'. You will find over 518,682 pre-existing questions. Try the misspellings 'loose weight' and there are another 119,033 In all there are over 637,715 Health section questions requesting solutions to being or thinking you might be overweight. On average these each yield 6 answers, that is nearly 4 million answers. (Without searching for any other variations on the question!) I can usefully summarise these answers in 4 words: EAT LESS DO MORE. Are you desperate enough to try this???

I was like that, too. I'm 25 weeks now, and I was really worried because it seemed like I wasn't gaining as much weight as I should. I've been checked and my baby boy is perfectly fine and at good size and weight, but they said not all women will gain the average 30 lbs. during pregnancy. I weighed 110 before I got pregnant, and now I only weigh 123 lbs. My belly is the only thing that has gotten any bigger. As long as your eating good, and feeling good, you should be fine! If your worried, though, see your doc so they can reassure you! congrats!

very common in the 1st trimester, do not worry. i lost 4 pounds. You are burning a ton of calories right now but your baby hasn't progeressed enough to where you retain water or are carrying more weight. And trust me, you'll more than make up for it, especially near the end!
Congrats.....

The baby does take quite a toll on the body. It zaps you of nutrients. I wouldn't worry about one pound.

You are probably eating healthier and it takes energy to grow your baby. I'm sure everything's fine.
