My guess would be because dates are a natural laxative and it could cause cramping with bowel movements. The cramping could cause a mother to go into pre term labor? Now...I'm just guessing here.

Only thing I can think of is that if the person is having a problem with their blood sugar. But i've never heard that a pregnant woman is not to eat dates.

Because your date's mom would get mad? HA HA HA Only teasing. I've never heard that a pregnant woman can't eat dates. I don't see the harm in it.

There is no reason not to eat dates when pregnant. Assuming you are asking about the fruit :)

I am not sure if a date and a prune is the same thing but i am nearly 37 weeks and i have been eating heaps of them (prunes). Check your source on that one.
