i was shocked to discover how much of a disibility smoking is when you are trying to concieve.it has controlled my fertility for nearly 8 years acting like a contriceptive pill..

I am currently 16 weeks pregnant and am concerend that the stress that I have been having lately is having an effect on my baby. Last week one of my best friends was diagnosed with breast cancer (she is 29, has a 6 wk old and a 17 mnth old). Then last night my husband told me that he was offered a great position within his company but we would have to relocate to Boston (we live in Indiana). This has all been very stressful on me and I dont know how to not Be Stressed, as everyone keeps telling me. There is just no way, I am so distraught over everything. Does anyone know if stress can harm your unborn baby? I need to know what to do so that I can relax. Its hard anyway to just veg in the eve b/c I have a sweet 2 yr old that is all about mommy these days. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks everyone.

My son is six months old. He can hold eye contact with me but only for a few seconds. He then gets distracted by something else every time. I try to talk to him and look him in the eyes but he always looks away. Also, he can yell and make lots of noise ( I know he enjoys hearing his own voice), yet he has not yet made any sounds like ma, ba, goo, ga. Can your six month old make these sounds or do they mostly just yell and sing song? He responds to his name being called but only sometimes. Can you describe to me what your baby can do at six months. I know it is early to diagnose, but I am worried he could be autistic. Thanks

Is this possible?
I have been testing for ovulation using test strips every day since about day 12. My cycle on average is 33 days. Based on thre fact that my last cycle started on 04/01/07 I guessed my ovulation would be between 18th - 23rd of January. I noticed the clear slippery stuff on Saturday evening (20/01/07). However the ovulation tests have shown as negative every day. I'm confused please help. Does this mean I have not yet ovulated?

He mentioned abnormal pregnancy and is checking for hcg levels. Then said it may be too early to tell. I cramp and bloat like I am fixing to start my period. I don't understand how I have enough of the hormone to show up on a pregnancy test, but still have to be checked to make sure the hormone is multiplying. I don't know if I can carry this baby. I was not planning to be a mom. I have been on the pill for 5 years. This is a great shock to me and my husband. I don't understand the whole abnormal pregnancy thing. My doctor looked just as surprised as I. Apparently my lining wasn't thick like it should have been and also, I have developed 2 cysts on my right ovary. 6 weeks ago I only had 1. I am just really confused about all of this and I don't know what to do.

I have heard people say that you should drink a Coke before your ultrasound in order to get the baby a little more active. I have an ultrasound tomorrow and would like to find out the sex of my baby. Does this help at all?

My baby is 8 months old and she eats the pureed baby food from the jars. My friend, whose husband is a pediatrician, mentioned yesterday that her husband told her that by 8 months babies should be able to eat whatever is on your plate (not peanut stuff though). I've never heard this before and my pediatrician has never told me that. I'm just curious what other mothers are doing with their babies. This is my first. I couldn't imagine giving her table food at this age. I know teeth aren't necessary to eat, but she doesn't have any teeth yet. Thanks in advance for your comments!!!

I was thinking about starting my son on some cerial. Hes 3 months on the 26th. I just dont want my doc to know I started him early when I take him there. His next apointment is March 9th and the doc said we would talk about a new diet then. Should I just wait and see what the doc has to say or should I sneek some solids into this hungry boy of mine?

1st month trying to conceive and I thought I had my ovulation days down pat. Althought yesterday I was looking at the calender and realized wait a sec. i get my period every 29 or 30 days not every 28 days. So I guess I screwed everything all up. I have been trackin since Oct 06'. I got my period on the 9th. Nov 06' I got it on the 7th. Dec 06' on the 5th. And in january i got in at 2:30 am on the 4th. I originally thought i was ovulating from the 15th-18th but now i think it was really the 16th -19th using a 29 day cycle. The 19th day being ovulation. I did not have sex on the 19th. All other days I did. But if I go by a 30 day cycle then my most fertile day was the 19th. And i didnt have sex that day although i did have sex everyday up to the 19th. What are the chances I am and do u think I could test this early? I feel very different. I want to say it's my period but i don't think i have ever had period symptoms this intense...

I am 17 weeks pregnant and the last couple of days I noticed that I have alot of clear watery discharge. This morning I woke up in the middle of the night and felt wet and had a quarter size clear wet spot on my underwear. Could I be leaking amniotic fluid at this stage? I called my doc.
