Pregnancy & Parenting - 24 January 2007

My husband and I want to take our 1 and 5 year olds on a vacation during the february school break. Does anyone have any ideas of a good aquarium or indoor theme park or some fun place to go to? Does anyone live in a city that has something really great for kids? We want to find a nice hotel and just relax for a few days, and we want the kids to have a great time! Someone must know of a city that has something really awesome for kids to do! Thanks!!!

I am getting my 1st ultrasound tomorrow at 7 weeks to confirm my baby's heartbeat. My boyfriend and I have decided to tell our parents about our expected little one after this ultrasound, so the news sharing will occur this weekend. I am so very nervous. I am 21 years old, my boyfriend is 22. This was an unexpected pregnany, but we are welcoming it with open arms. I am currently in school, while this pregnancy will set me back, it will only make me skip 1 semester of school. I come from an eastern european background, and I am nervous of telling my mother, but moreso my grandparents since they also played a crucial role in raising me. I am hoping with all my heart that their initial reaction will not be disappointment. I am nervous about telling my boyfriend's parents the news also, as he comes from a somewhat conservative family. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deliver our news and what to say if my grandmother will potentialy be pessimistic and negative in return?

I was on the Depo shot right after my first pregnantcy. I was on it for 3 years then came off of it an started the pill an it made me feel like crap so I went back on Depo. Its been 6 months now an I'm do to get another shot in a couple of weeks. I'm not going to because my husband an I finally decided to have another baby. I've heard so many different anwsers to this like I won't be able to have kids now or I can't get pregnant for 18 months now an things like that. I just want to know a real anwser on how long it might be before I can become pregnant or if I can get pregnant at all.

I have a four-month-old daughter. With the exception of rice cereal at night, she is exclusively breast-fed. She went from only getting up twice during the night to nurse to now waking four to five times during the last three weeks. Needless to say I am exhausted trying to keep up with this. I asked our family doctor what happened. She said to wait a couple weeks and if this routine doesn’t subside to start feeding her rice cereal before bed. I started her on cereal one week ago and no change. Our little girl has no problems going to sleep it’s just staying asleep. She takes two three-hour naps during the day. I’ve tried not letting her sleep for longer than two hours during her naps, no change. I’ve tried putting a shirt I’ve worn that has my sent in her bassinette while she sleeps, no change. I am running out of ideas. The only thing I haven’t tried is letting her cry herself back to sleep when she wakes up. I’ve been told this works- but I really really hesitate to try this.

Help I need advice! MY 6 yr old son is in Kindergarden and is having behavior problems bad. Before today I was told about some incidents at school that happened but was not linked to my son recently we found out that he is bulling other kids to lie about things he has done and say they did them. Yesterday the principle found out that my son is peeing all over the bathroom floor and sometimes pooping on the floor. He lies all the time and I cant seem to get the truth out of him. I just dont know what to do about this I am taking all his special privialges away and not allowing his friends to come over after school until we start to resolve this problem but what else can be done. I dont want my son to be the trouble maker and to lie all the time. Im so worriedany advice would be wonderful.

I am making a bulletin board for child's school. The theme is children who show courage. I was looking for children who have done extrodinary things, like stood up to bullies, called 911 for help, and so on. Everything I have found relates back to ill/sick children and their courage. Now, I understand that sick children have the most courage for the ordeals they go through, but how can I find information on children, regular children who are doing amazing things? I think that doing the bulletin on sick children is too "heavy" for what I am doing.

This question is to Catgirl. I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but the person it was intended for. Why are you going and putting thumbs-down on all my questions? Why are you writing questions that straight out call me out? If sooo many people disliked my answers to their questions, then they should say something themselves. If sooo many people dislike my answers, why are you the only one being extremely immature about it? I know some are going to say that it is immature of me to ask this question or whatever, but I'm tired of it, and I'm not willing to give up my spot on Yahoo! Answers just because ONE person disliked an answer I gave. So thank you for letting me get this out. P.S. I went to the doctor and he examined me and told me i felt like i was 13 weeks along... my uterus was the size of a 13 week. later that day i went to the ultrosound and they were rude and didn't allow me to have a picture.... and then told me i was only 9 weeks... and that my conception date was novemeber the 19th. I got to calculating and on nov. 19th i was already 3 days late and i remember thinking i was pregnant then.. because i was going to take a test on thanksgiving but decided to wait a little longer... so how is that possible... i go back to see my doctor in a week... and i'm going to tell him about it.... the doctor and i were at the same week ... he thought i was 13 and so did i... but the ultrosound people said i was 9... they are wrong... what do you think?

I have a picture on myspace... I LOOK SO PREGNANT already. that's why i'm lead to believe they are wrong.

my daughter is 2 and a half, watches a half hour of Barney and most of sesame street, occasionally she also watches Dora - having grown up without tv myself, I know how important it is to a child's ability to socialize - if you don't know what the other kids are talking about, you're labelled as weird and I don't want that to happen to my kids, but at the same time, how much is enough/too much, and what shows are important?

My fiance and i learned we were pregnant a couple weeks ago and couldnt be happier. But she has always been a wuss and a complainer and needy. We are only about 5 weeks and the complaining and demands for late night trips to the store have sky rocketed. now i'm not stupid i know its to early (or is it?) for her to be going through all this. sho the question i pose is do i keep letting her get away with this or what and when should i be ready for the real symtptoms

i was 8days late on my period, i tested but the result was negative on day 7. On day 8 i started to bleed. My periods are normally quite heavy and last for 6-9 days. I bled heavy for 3 days and then all of a sudden i stopped bleeding. Now i have been spotting brown for the last 4 days, however its not enough for a pad only a panty liner, just wondering if it sounds like an off period or something other like a miscarriage or pregnancy?

My daughter will be 7 1/2 months when we are going on vacation and wants to go with us. The flight is about 4 1/2 hours. We did check with the OB/GYN and he want to wait until it's closer to the date, but we've got great prices on tickets right now. They are non transferable and non refundable and I don't want to waste money if she is not gonna be able to go. Any other expecting ladies out there who could or could not fly? ANy advice?

I want all of our family, meaning me, my fiance, our new baby when born and my two kids from another marriage in the picture. My fiance takes care of the girls financially and emotionally and is their full time "daddy." The caption on the card would read.....

"all because two people fell in love."

the picture would be a professionally taken black and white photo.

but the two older girls are not his, would that caption still be appropriate since he is raising them as his own?

I feel sometime that when i am with my child i feel like she is not mine and then sometime i know she mine, i have felt like this since the day she was born cause i didnt have a very good pregnancy and also not a very good birth so it was quite a shock to take in of her being here. i have been to the doctor and health visitor and they have said it could be slight post depression she is 18mths and a handful and i would just like tips on wat to do on bolding issues or just other mothering stuff you can suggest thanks looking forward to some answers.
