Maybe she's used to seeing you, and daddy is like a breath of fresh air! No offense, I know how it is, but it only means your daughter is used to having you there for her all the time. As much as it bothers you a little when they seem to like other people better, you have to remember that you are the one who they always have to go to when they need to. Besides, I think it's a daddy thing anyway - they seem to have that effect. The way daddies interact with kids is different than moms. Try to not let it make you so sad! I completely understand, and I know it's easier said than done, but you just can't let it bother you, or you won't enjoy things as much!

Welcome to motherhood. You'll never be so powerful and so invisible as when you're raising small children. If Daddy's at work all day, he's new when he comes home. So she's going to smile at the new face. Also, as far as your baby is concerned, you aren't 2 separate people yet. That won't happen until about 2.5 years old. As a baby, she thinks of you as indivisible from her, so she's not going to react so much to you: of course you're there; you're always there.
The best advice I can offer is to be patient. Smile at her, laugh, read books, sing songs. Do all of the stuff you do with her. Be there for the hugs, the snuggles, the cereal spilled all over the kitchen floor. Believe me: she knows you're important, and she loves you very much even if she doesn't show it yet.

This is not a reflection on your parenting nor on how much she values you.
Perhaps he smiles more at her.
A dog will run and greet a master that has been away all day. Kids are the same. She has not seen him and is happy to see him.
You on the other hand are a constant. Her affection for you is based on the trust you are always there. If you left every day and returned like he did you'd be getting more smiles too because she would be glad that finally you were back too.
Hope I said this in a way that can be understood.

It is because she is not used to seeing him all the time so it is like a treat to her. Don't feel to bad it happens to all of us. I am a stay at home mom and my 16 month old see me all day long, now when daddy comes home there is big excitement, but if I am to leave for a while and come back all I get is a "Hi." I understand it is because daddy is away all day.

Well, I'm my situation, according to my parents, i was always a daddy's girl. I think its like a predisposition. Don't worry, I'm sure she loves you just as much as the daddy.

She has more gas when he's around? lol Just kidding. Don't worry she loves you just as much mom but maybe since she doesn't see daddy as much it's different. My daughter smiled and her papa (my dad) more then she did me for a while. But I think that was just because she didn't see him as much as she sees me.

Maybe it's a special thing they do together , babies know more than you think , they are memorizing some few moments of these times so they can remember them as an older child and maybe an adult.Consider my answer :)
