I need a winter family vacation destination in Northeast USA, any ideas?

My husband and I want to take our 1 and 5 year olds on a vacation during the february school break. Does anyone have any ideas of a good aquarium or indoor theme park or some fun place to go to? Does anyone live in a city that has something really great for kids? We want to find a nice hotel and just relax for a few days, and we want the kids to have a great time! Someone must know of a city that has something really awesome for kids to do! Thanks!!!

As someone from Boston, I think this city is great for families. You have the New England Aquarium. The Boston Children's Museum, a really great place, is alas, closed until April for renovations, but the Boston Museum of Science is also very child-friendly. There are many central hotels -- such as the Copley Marriott, that will allow for indoor shopping without having to go outside very much. There are lots of places to eat too. The city is quite compact, unlike NYC, so you can get around fairly quickly, and cabs are plentiful as long as you are near tourist areas. Dang it's cold up there in the winter, I like New England in the summer. Winter vacation further south and get the benefits of winter sports (sking, sledding, skating) in a less severe climate.

you could go to NYC, (of course)

or FOXWOODS indian reserve has a GREAT museum, nice hotels, and even a casino! (even though i don't recomend going there and gambling away all of your money while your kids are asleap).

try some of the travel web sites and research Boston. they have a nice aquarium and some other stuff to do....
