Pregnancy & Parenting - 15 January 2007

Good Afternoon,

The past couple of weeks have been really weird for me. I have started breaking out with pimples, I feel tired, I have been sick twice in the morning, and I have this strange pain in my lower back. I thought I may be pregnant but when I take a test it comes out negative. My period isn't for another 2 weeks. Am I supposed to wait until my period to check to see if I am pregnant? Can doctor tests tell if I am pregnant sooner than home tests?

My son is eighteen months old, for the past couple months for some unkown reason he has began sleeping with myself and my husband in our bed, he will go to bed in his crib at night but then wake up at about 3 am and scream and cry until he can come lay with us, then he will go back to sleep until morning. I find this to be a real problem for a number of reasons: first of all i enjoy sleeping naked next to my husband but obviously feel uncomfortable laying naked next to my toddler son, second we only have a queen size bed and its just not big enough for all of us to sleep comfortably, and finally i just feel like he has his own bed in his own room why shouldnt he sleep in it. my husband on the other hand feels that him sleeping with us is just fine and sees nothing wrong with it.i have been reading online ways to transition him back into his own bed and have decided to start 2nite but how can i make this work when my husband will just get him when he cries and make me feel bad,thoughts?

I am 6 weeks pregnant and had been spotting, the doctor put me on Baby aspirin 1per day, progesterone 50 mg 2 times per day, penatal vitamins and folgard once a day. I had 2 previous miscariages in 1 year, I am 39. Tomorrow I have my first ultrasound. Thanks for all your answers.

Some of the literature I have on pregnancy says I need to call my insurance company (I am with United Healthcare, I have an independent account, I am preferred status P.P.O) and ask them about what is covered during pregnancy, etc. I am unsure of what questions specifically I need to ask. Do I inquire about ultrasounds , lab tests, and how many doc visits I am alotted throughout my pregnancy? Also, since I have a PPO, does this mean I am fairly free to pick whatever hospital etc, that I want? Any suggestions as to what to ask are appreciated.

I have heard from 2 different people that pregnant women cannot be around cat litter is this true? I am pregnant and have 3 cats so the litter needs cleaned out everyday. My fiance works full time and my daughter is to young to clean it. so I am the only one who can clean it, I can't let it go because the smell is nausiating if I do. I'm not getting rid of my cats what can I do?

Im 17 weeks pregnant and i cannot stay awake at night, we have four little boys and are always on the go. So after putting them to bed at night, i fall asleep. Im usually sleeping by 9pm. This has been affecting my relashionship with my hubby, i hate falling asleep but no matter what i cannot seem to stay awake!! Our sex life before i was pregnant was about 2-3 times a week. Now its about 1 night a week if that. Whats going on here, and what can i do. I feel like an aweful wife. He doesnt complain or act like it bothers him at all, hes very supportive, what can i do?!?!? I have 3 children and I know my body very well because I knew I was pregnant with all three of my children before I was even late with my period. A little over two years ago I had a tubal ligation. My doctor told me that he burned the ends of my tubes. Since the operation (I was going through a divorce.) I did not have sex until a few months ago. I am currently not late for my period but I have all the feelings that I had with my previous 3 pregnancies. What are the chances that I AM pregnant? This really is not a good time in my life to have another child but I think they are a blessing from God and will be happy if I am pregnant. Also, I will be just as happy (but in a different sense) if I'm not. I feel silly because I thought I would never be going through these thoughts of having another child again. Any advice? I haven't missed a period yet so I don't think it would do any good to take a test at this point. I would like to know how possible it is to become pregnant.

I catch him once in a while laying on his stomach, rythmically rocking back and forth so that his penis is being rubbed by the floor. People have said this is normal, but is this normal so young?? Does he even have hormones yet that would make him feel like pleasuring himself? Also, I know you aren't supposed to yell at them but it really grossed me out because he is only a little boy. my son has been crawling since 5 months and still isnt walking, i stand him uip and let him go put of course he falls,. this is getting on my last nerve, he needs to learn to walk, he weighs 20 lbs and i cant carry him any more, what should i do to force him to walk, i seen lots of babies younge than him wlaking, and there is no reason for this nonsense, its pitiful! its not my fault im trying, he refuses to walk, any ideas? how can i forc ehim better?

I miscarried one embryo at what the doctor estimated was around five weeks but a scan showed a second embryo still developing normally. I had a second scan on the surviving twin today, nearly three weeks later, and they could not detect a heart beat and said growth had been slower than they would like. Hoping the dates were off and a h/b will show at a third scan next week and wondering if a bad bronchial infection I have just shaken after two weeks may have had a bearing on the growth rate. I didn't take medication. I have all the pregnancy symptoms from sore back and breasts to morning sickness and have already bonded very strongly so it is hard to adjust to the idea I might be carrying something that was just not meant to be. What are the chances it could rectify itself?

Is it normal for clear liquid to leak from my nipples during pregnancy? At first, I thought it was colostrum, but I keep reading that colostrum is indeed a thick yellowish color. This susbstance is clear and rather thin in texture. I guess I'm trying to ask if colostrum can be clear and thin? BTW im 24 weeks tomorrow. thanks.

his baby formula has to be cold or he wont drink it, this is non sense and i dont know what to do, i really try to force him to weat and drink hot things but he refuses!!!!!!!!!!!!! he freaks out, it has to be chilled! why is this, i guess ill keep trying t stcick the hot foods in mouth, no clue!any ideas?
