Pregnancy & Parenting - 5 January 2007

I tried to breastfeed my daughter, she will not latch on even with the help of lactation consultants. I feel like crying, almost like I am a failure as a mother. I am now formula feeding her. Have any of you ever experienced this and should I feel this way?

Ok i want to know peoples opinions on this. My husband doesnt want our son to believe in Santa, or the Toothfairy, or the easter bunny. And i kind of understand his point. When he was growing up he didnt believe in them for the simple fact that his parents thought that if he did and then later realized they werent real he would question his belief in God. I understand what he is saying. Does anyone have a opinion on this.

I just gave my 6 month old a sippy cup. My co-worker who has a daughter that same age as mine heard it was bad to give a sippy cup. Anyone else hear anything like that?

My son is 21 months old. He is very tall for his age, but thinner than the adverage child. He is wearing 24 mnths clothes well and has been for about 3 months. I am wanting to buy ahead while off season clothes are on sale, but need help. How old was your child when they wore 2T, How about 3T, and 4T?
Please let me know how old your child is and what their build is so I can guess what my son's build might need to fit him.

im 16 years old i recently found out i was pregnant about 1 weeks ago but i also found out im 15 weeks omg my belly is harder and a little noticeable i went for my 1rst ultrasound 2day after school and my doctor said the sex of the baby was noticeable n he was seeing a baby girl im very very excited but can he actually see wat the baby is gonna be i will be 16 weeks 2morrow but i dont know if he could really see wat the baby is i got an ultrasound done

This is my 5th pregnancy,I know I should be an expert but there is such a gap between my youngest,that I have forgotton a few things. we have two other kids, and I really want him there... he says he needs to be with the kids...and won't come. But then mostly I think he just says that when he is mad at me. I really don't want my mom there or anyone else but just him.

Hey everyone,
I am 32 weeks pregnant with baby number 3 and I feel like I could go into labour at any time. The baby has been head first for the past 3 weeks and I have already started to dilate. With my first 2 children my son was a normal 9 hour labour at 39 weeks and my daughter was a quick labour at 55 minutes at only 36 weeks.
What Im mostly worried about is the fact my pelvis is very painfulas the baby has been sitting there for at leasted 2 weeks so there is alot of pressure. I am also experancing braxston hicks every 15-20 mins. Sometimes they will completely stop me in my tracks but other times its bearable but I notice everyone.

Has anyone else experanced this sort of thing? I find it hard to do my nesting and run after my other two kids so any surgestions would be muchly appriated.

It would be one thing if they had a amicable relationship - they have never spent time together before. She constantly calls him, not the girls, telling him she loves, wants him back etc, she even tells the girsl she wants him back. He lied to me about spending the day with her and then tried to justify it by saying she is there mother - I feel it was inappropiate - they don't have that type of relationship and it was confusing to the children. Am I wrong to feel that way. I should add - she lives 450 miles away, sees the girls 2-3 x a year for a week at time, does not pay child support, is asking us for $ all the time, and does not have custody because she chose her bf over her children. She cheated on my husband numerous times thruout there marriage.

I am 38 weeks pregnant and i am having these really bad cramps in my lower stomach by my crotch. I am in tears they hurt so bad. Is this is sign of labor? I just got checked today and i am a 1 cm dialated and 80% effaced... Any ideas on this really bad pain?

I have been having serious contractions and pains, until today...They were about 15 min apart...then the baby has hardly moved at all today....I still hurt and am having contractions they just seem to be more in my back and under my ribs...the uterine ones are not as intense...I am worried my water won't break and I will go into labor at night... at home...

My husband is in the army and we had to move to Washington in November, all the way from Iowa! This is his first duty station. We live in Lakewood, near Tacoma and south of Seattle. It rains almost 6 days out of the week here. I have a 10 month old daughter and we are away from all of my family (that I love dearly and am very attatched to!). I don't know anyone here and get little help from my husband. I never get to go out and do things by myself. I feel very isolated and have been pretty sad the past couple days. What can I do to make myself feel better? I wish it didn't rain all the time here so I could take my daughter for walks in the stroller every day like I used to. I need some ideas of things to do with my daughter or ways to get out and be around other people aside from when we are running errands. I am new to the area so of course I have no clue what there is to do here. My husband will be gone for a whole month starting Feb. 18th and will leave for Iraq in May. Help! :(
