Get all of your hospital gear ready!!!! 80% effaced...means that you cervix is really thinning out and getting ready for labor...the fact that your already dilated to 1 cm....your already dilating..
The pain that you are feeling are contractions....

It might be labor. Start timing the cramps from the beginning of one to the beginning of the next. If they're pretty regular it's labor. If they're 5 minutes apart or so, get to the hospital.

Braxton Hicks (practice contractions) can be very painful and usually are not regular. Real contractions are usually a few minutes apart, and become stronger and longer.

I'd suggest staying near your doctor and getting ready for an epideral because it sounds to me like you about to drop your bomb!

oh hun that sounds like round ligament pain. its miserable some times. you can try some tylenol and a hot bath or a hot pack, sometimes that will help. but the biggest help will be giving birth.
