Ive got three children and because of small babies have always had a lot of scans and have found out what i was having all three times although my last child was supposed to be a girl and i was told at 38 weeks in fact it is a boy. Apparently boys genitals look like snails on a scan and girls look like a burger. Remember your doctor has probably been doing scans for years and probabl;y just knows from experience. Good Luck and enjoy that bundle of joy whatever sex it may be.

Because they are highly trained professionals. If they can look at the veins and arteries in the heart and see if they are working ok, then picking out a penis (or lack of) is probably easy in comparison!
It all just looks like a blur to me!

The people who operate the ultrasound equipment are quite skilled in looking for things like, are all the internal organs developing etc, so they are also good at seeing a willy (or not!)

The ultrasound shows it.
I'm not sure how to describe it. I have always been able to see an ultrasound and know whats what and everything, but I know ALOT of people can't.
They can see the genitals forming and know.

i assume you mean on a scan pic its cos they know what they are looking at and not just a grainy black and white pic also is sometimes possible to see the genitals externally and internally on a scan but mistacks have been made

you know when you see the ultrasound you can see the babies hair, brain, etc.. so the doctor is skilled to notice the area down there. boys have balls and girls don't, the can see the girl's uterus also

well i suppose it's to do with experience, they must see a lot of babys a day, sometimes it can be obvious like with a boy, but sometimes they make mistakes.

Well with little boys, it is usually pretty obvious, but girls I can not tell myself, they say they see three lines to form the vagina but I never have.
