Pregnancy & Parenting - 26 December 2006

My son briefly showed interest in the potty 5 days before I returned to teaching this fall and I was fairly successful training him in those 5 days. However, his dad did not follow through with it while watching him during the day while I was at work. My son turned 3 this week and while I was home on Holiday Break I decided to work on it again. I have switched him from pull-ups to underpants. I can pretty much tell when he has to go and will ask him to go to the potty. He is reluctant some times but other times seems eager. In either case, he will sit on the potty for long periods of time without going. When he says he is done and we put his pants back up, he will go within minutes everytime. I know the inconsistency was bad for him, but I can't go back and change that. Any ideas of where to go from here?

My stomach gets ROCK HARD for about 2-3 minutes off and on during the day. Its not painful. It feels like Iam holding a sit up in mid crunch or something. It makes me really sore, sometimes it gets so tight I cant stand up straight... Or breathe a deep breath.

Once in a while I might have a few that are a couple minutes apart, real intense, and they last maybe 40-60 seconds. Just not painful. I have to fight bearing down.

Iam 36 weeks. Ive had braxon hicks before, but usually they are painful.

Are these things contractions too?

note: Baby's dropped and fully engaged at almost station 5 (all i need to do is dialate and I can push), i feel like I have a grape fruit shoved up my crotch (sitting on the toilet is torture!), and his movement stops during those feelings, but comes back after them. iam due for a check up on the 29th, Iam effaced a little last I knew.

Contractions? Progress? lol. Has to be something good, right?

Hi, i am a single mother of a 2yr old, My sons father passed away in a car accident the day my son was born, he was on his was 2 the hospital from work and some drunk 17yr old ran a redlight, killing my sons father instantly. My son has been asking where his daddy is, which i dnt know why, maybe cause the kids he plays wit at play group have their fathers come pick them up or something. what if anything can i tell him, he is far 2 young to know and understand why his daddy isnt here.

I just found out that a one night stand from 5 weeks ago is pregnant. I was completely reckless and didn't use protection in a bout of drunken stupidity. This is a nightmare situation. I just landed my dream job and started dating a great girl a few weeks ago. To my horror, the one night stand seems to be leaning toward having the baby. as said in my last message i am 6 weeks and 1 day pregnant, but i have only majour signs needing to pee alot, constipation and fatiuge, i do not have the normal sore breast etc... (did have shooting pain through them the 4th week. is it normal to not have the sore breast thing going on and not feeling morning sickness (counting my blessings).

Because in NY

Before women can have an abortion or give the baby up for adoption she must get the father signature an prove who the father is.

And with the custody issue-----In the state of NY the court are startign to give the father custody of the child more then the mother

I am breastfeeding and my baby has not pooped in a week. I know its normal for them to go every few days, but it's been a week now. I was told it could be what I am eating that makes her not able to poop. What can I eat to make her go and what am I eating that would stop her from going? Serious answers please. I was told that once my daughter reaches 6 months I can start adding Rice Cereal to her formula by her pediatrician. Other Mom's have recommended added a smidge of Rice Cereal to my newborns feeding at night to hold her over longer in then night. Is this okay? Any other suggestions as to helping her sleep at night?

Last week I rode on a school bus...I had forgotten how violent a ride they can be...especially when I was fiercely jarred over railroad tracks! I am 22 weeks pregnant and am concerned that damage may have occurred to the baby. I know she is in amniotic fluid, but I worry that it was too much trauma...you know how women are when they are pregnant. Baby is still moving around.

JUST FOUND OUT THAT MY DAUGHTER FATHER IS MY SONS FATHER. MY DAUGHTER IS 10 AND MY SON IS 8 MY SON MISBHAVE SO BADLY NOW. SINCE THIS INFORMATION HAS CAME OUT, MY SON IS VERY GIFTED AND GET BORED IN SCHOOL. WHICH CAUSES HIM TO GET IN TROUBLE. I HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS BEFORE THIS AT ALL.
