Yes, I was bullied at school in the fifth grade by a class mate. That was thirty something years ago. It doesn't bother me on an emotional level for myself now but , I substitute in elementary, Jr high and high school and it infuriates me when I see students at any age being harassed or bullied. I confront the culprits about it and tell them how wrong and cruel it is to bully fellow students. Some teachers act like they don't see and this is the wrong attitude. There are intensive programs in schools now to address the problems. We also have a bully box where students can anonymously report bullying to personnel. This takes the pressure of the kids.

Yes, I have got bullied at school before. It was in 4 and 5th grade. I pick on so bad I cried every other day. Most on time there was a very angry girl who felled 2 times who hits me (for no reason) sills from me and bush me very heard because she have liked the same person. My best friend is one grade older than me, and she always helps me to get away from her. But she had also got beaten up too. I DO NOT FIGHT!! EVER!!!!! The teachers never do anything about it! Now I’m in 10th grade now, and the girl who was doing this entire drop out of high school in the first year.
I feel kind of happy and sad still. Happy because I wouldn't meet my friends or be in band, choir and in art club. Sad because the teacher, and the kids in my year was very mean, but not as bad as that girl.

The bullying that I experienced at school was mostly occasional verbal insults hurled at me. It has made me wonder why some people can't live in peace. What causes a person to want to bring harm to another person like that? What are parents doing wrong in child rearing that causes their kids to want to say/do mean things to other kids? Or is bullying an inherent trait in some people? It seems that some people are just natural-born trouble makers.

Yes, and though I am a peaceful person generally, I hate the guts of the person involved thirty years after the fact. She was ahead of her time in terms of being a girl and a vicious bully. As a fortysomething, she has become an ostentatious Christian. I'd like to give the hypocrite a personal chance to turn the other cheek and give her what she ought to have received in eighth grade.

Nope. Bullies may seem tough and cool, but deep down inside, they are insecure sad people that express their feelings by tormenting others. If someone were to bully me, I would ignore it at first, then report it to someone else if it doesn't work. If you are being bullied, don't be afraid about what'll happen, and you need to stand up for yourself. If you ignore the thing they do to you, they'll probably stop bullying.

I was, and I'm still bitter about it 15 years later. But those kids are still living at home and hanging around town with bad jobs - and I moved to the other side of the country and got an advanced degree in science. So I can't be that mad at them - especially since I really don't remember who any of them were. Just a lingering feeling of hating kids.

Oh gosh, yes. When I was in school, I hated riding the bus because of a couple older girls who were so mean to all of us little kids. I saw one of them not to long ago, and this is over 20 years later now, but anyway, she had gotten fat and ugly. I felt a little bad about laughing to myself about her, but not really, because she made every morning and afternoon just miserable for me. Oh, and come to find out, she had a crush on my now husband when we were in high school, and I didn't know it. He and I have been married 17 years.

Yes. I'm an adult now, I send my 5yr old son to tae kwon do and I will likely homeschool or private school him if he has any issues with bullying. I went through it for many years, I had been beaten up and everything.
