Pregnancy & Parenting - 26 December 2006

This year I was going to babysit on new years eve (but then that fell through) instead of going to a party so I have several questions:
1. I still would like to (I can probably make around $50), but it is getting a bit late, and need to find someone else. I'm putting a sign up in my synagogue and my mom is going to ask around her office, but do any of you have other ideas?
2. I've babysat before, but only with a friend (never alone), and I was wondering if you have any ideas on how to entertain the kids, what to do if they get out of control, and things not to do?
3. How much should I charge per hour (the people who I'd babysit for would be fairly wealthy, but I'm only 13 and have had a fairly limited babysitting experience- the kids I'd babysat before were the same people and very well behaved)?
4. What should I wear?

Im 26 weeks pregnant now and my pregnancy has always been stressful from being sick all the time and not having the father there for me and all that wonderful kind of stuff. I have gained 7lbs throughout my pregnant, but it says i should be gaining a pound every week.
--Well i haven't gained any weight in about a month and lately i have not had much of an appetite. I am lucky to eat a whole 2 meals a day.
--I have also been very tired and in a lot of pain, especially at night. I can never fall asleep though even when i am exhaused! I dont know why.? I always end up feeling really sick with pains always on my right lower side making it hard to walk, or lay down. I am very un-comftorable.
**Can anyone explain whats going on with me and whats up?

I went to L&D last night for strong contractions and the urge to push. They checked my cervix and said I was fully open on the outside, but closed on the inside. I was sent home so I'm guessing I wasn't having any progress. What does that mean...open on the outside of the cervix but closed on the inside?

because you should turn it off while not in use (on his back) & only let your child play with it under supervision--it is made for18mth+ .my 3 yr old was laying in the recliner w/pablo & he started screaming...there is wheels on the bottom that pinched his skin- hours later he still has 2 red circles on his tummy.there is a warning on bottom not to let it get near hair- it is the same color as the toy it doesnt stand out...this worries me- please tell everyone that might have one. i went to mattells web - but theres no way to leave a message

My 3 1/2 year old son ALWAYS cries/whines when he doesn't get his way and has a really hard time sharing his toys, especially with our 16 month old son. And every time he crys I get down to his eye level and repeat, "I can't help you until you use your words" and it never gets through to him until I am yelling it to him, which I hate to do. Is there anything I can do to make him stop crying and start talking? I am finding this rather embarrassing at preschool functions, the park, or even the store.

Should I count the first day of the cycle as the day I finish a pack of pills, the day I start a new one or the day my period starts?
I know the pill is supposed to keep you from ovulating, but in case I do, I want to know when it will happen.

my son who is 7 weeks old has a hernia, and i was wondering if its normal if it gets bigger as he gets bigger or is it sipposed to stay the same size always??..he is kinda chubby..he is about 11 lbs, maybe a little more...

If he does not get what he wants, when he wants, how he wants it. WHERE HE WANTS IT he cries or SCREAMS he DOESNT know what he wants and he is just a mess HE wont eat breakfast or lunch anymore. he is a nightmare. i honestly dont know what to do. he is fine for the first hour after he wakes up from his nap and when he wakes up in the morning but for the other few hours its HELL. i didnt relize terriable twos. is a real thing. but just everything he cries over i mean EVERYTHING! mainly when he doesnt get his way. i need suggestions. its really sad but at times its really hard to love him. but once he is sleeping i DO LOVE HIM. well give me some help someone

i have cramps but like pressure and very mild from both sides.. i'm 6 days late my boobs are really full and i've had heartburn and sick to my stomach but i thought it was cause i was thinking about it alot.. but i'm not stressed but these cramps are diff.. plus i've been ttc for awhile.. there is no infection.. no std... is this pregnancy? what do you women think.. the cramping feels like its annoying and i got gas alot too.. thanks. did any women have this???

as i was having sex i noticed i was bleeding, it wasnt a lot but it was enough to make us stop. as soon as we stoped i went to the bathroom to clean my self and i noticed that i wasnt bleading any more. it was light blood not heavy at all, is this normal???

Just asking out of curiousity. For SLEEPING would you rather put your child in a crib or a play pen? And why?

I myself have never used a crib. At first it was because we couldn't afford to buy one. Someone bought us a pack-n-play. We used this as a bassinet. (By the way, a pack-n-play is a WONDERFUL bassinet. They have plenty of room to move around. And you can safely use it for longer than a regular bassinet.) We had intended on buying a crib when he got too big for the bassinet, but once the time came we just decided to use the bottom of the play pen. I know, a lot of people say it is unsafe. BUT my son is eight months old, and he has been sleeping in a play pen for a few months now. Nothing has EVER happened to make me worry. Honestly, I prefer the play pen to a crib any day. I was just wondering what other people's opinions were...?

I took the second one at 12 days late. I feel very swollen in my lower stomach and nipples are very sore which comes and goes with intensity. I called my doctor and she said that I need to wait until I have missed two periods before they would give me a blood test. My husband and I have been off BC since July and are TTC. Does anyone have advice for me... Oh yeah I have been trying to stop thinking about it as much as possible. Since I have been very busy during the past couple of days (because of the Holidays) it has kepy my mind free of it until now. HELP PLEASE....I just hope nothing is wrong with me

i had a c-section on 9-14-06, i had none of the "normal" bleeding afterwards, exactly six weeks after my c-section i had my first period, it was fine, my last 2 periods have been late, and on the second day of my periods i have severly bad stomach cramps(make you stay in bed, in the fetal position all day cramps), all over my stomach, not just the lower section, my incision mark is still numb and the area underneath always hurts..anyone else had this happen? i have a dr appointment but it's a week away

there was also very little spotting on the 4th day and for the entire time it looked dark brown and kinda thick and old, on the 3rd day it looked a little fresh, usually i have my period for 5days and it was even one week early, i'm thinkin it could be due to the fact that i came off birth control in the middle of a cycle but i don't know, could i be pregnant, could anybody help
