My ex and I have a difference in opinion on this. My 12 year old has always struggled with school. He is very bright but has been diagnosed as ADHD & BiPolar.He recently brought home MORE poor grades and his teacher says that if he would study at home he is more than capable of getting A's and B's. Last marking period he played football & got the bad grades. He wanted to sign up for basketball this marking period but I said no.....until his grades improve and he can show me that he can maintain good grades while playing sports then he wouldn't be able to join. My ex husband thinks it's too strict and thinks that playing sports is good for his self esteem (which I agree) but unless we truly believe he will be picked for a pro sports team when he's older - then I think that academics is most important and sports comes second. Am I wrong

this child and his mother pull strings and manipulate everything to their advantage. i just found out that my husband is going to have him over christmas break, which means he will have to come to our house and wake up here chrstmas. i dont feel like i owe it to him to be santa because he put me and my family through hell. i know i have to and i will, but the fact is that i dont want to. I allmost lost my kids and went to jail because of a lie he told. and once the lie is over, the hurt and resentment doesnt just go away. i have been in school for 3 years to become a social worker. i have now dropped out because i lost my faith and trust in children. i see now that they arent ALL innocent. some are just mean and enjoy hurting people that love them. i wish i could believe again that i could change the world one child at a time. will i ever?

My daughter decided she loves to take off all her clothes, diaper included. Every time I come into the room, she's standing there, butt naked. I even tried to put her diaper on backwards, with the tape in the back, but it only took her 24 hours to figure it out. Did any of you guys have this problem, and how did you get your child to stay dressed?

As in other recent posts on this subject; I am struggling with my wife's decision to deny me having bio kids. I know it’s selfish, but I want blood children. There are thousands of needy children, the world is over-populated, I will love my adopted children and wonder how I lived without them… but part of me craves my own. I look at pics of my gdprents, my gt-gdprents & my whole family tree, what they have done, how they worked hard for our family and I am so proud that I came from them. I love that I hv the same curly hair as my uncles and my dad, I love that my aunt and I are both so pathetically sentimental, I love that I am stubborn like my dad and that my mom and I dance jigs in the kitchen while the rest of the family stares at us. There is something about being related in blood and finding those roots, connections!
Is this a primitive survival instinct? Should I just get over it? I know adopting children will be a beautiful, rewarding, life-changing event, but i can't kick this.

I am in 6th grade. I have this friend...my friend is really nice and all, but the problem is, my friend is a boy, and somehow the entire 6th grade has come to the conclusion that you can't have a male friend unless you start a romantic lovey-dovey relationship with him. So the girls at lunch and gym and stuff have started asking me stuff like, "Hey, are you going to ask him out yet?", and it's driving me crazy! I mean, I don't mind if I like accidentally fall in love with him or something, I just don't want to be FORCED to love him, y'know? I usually don't have a problem resisting peer pressure, I just want to know how I can make this situation little bit better.

I was wondering if there was anyone out there that could help me put some names together. I need to somehow mix Regina Ann and Teresa Darlene OR Joyce Annette and Janice Marie. I would prefer Regina and Teresa. I want to name my daughter Morgan and have her middle name be parts of my mother and mother-in-law's names mixed together. Joyce and Janice are mine and my husband's grandparents. If anyone can come up with a cute way to combine those names, I would love to know. Thanks in advance.

My 10 and 1/2 week old baby goes to sleep around 9:30 then back up at 3:30 for a bottle up until 4:30 then back up at 6:00. Just wondering if this sounds about right for her age. She takes 4-5 ounces a bottle.

Im 6 days past ovulation. Ive been having a few things going on that have got me thinking. 1. Itchy Nipples. 2. Tired (I was in bed by 830 last nite which is odd for me) 3. I woke up in the middle of the night STARVING. (something else odd for me) 4. Watery Discharage (so much it feels like Ive started..sorry tmi lol) 5. Increases sense of smell.

Is it too early to have symptoms? Im not sure for my period for another 8 or so days.

I found out that I was pregnant on Sept 11, 2006 and the first day of my last period was on Aug 14, 2006, my period was regular and heavy at times. I was on birth control until Aug 12, 2006 which was a saturday, I got my period exactly when I was suppose to. I did And my doctor says my conception date was Aug 28, 2006. When I went to my physician at 7 weeks he said that I was measuring correctly for the Aug 28th conception date. I want to know if I could have gotten pregnant before my period and still gotten my period.

Hi i am 22 and 4 months pregnant. Over the summer i went on a cruise ship for a vacation and some emotional recovery time. You see in April i was supposed to have gotten married to my college sweet heart but he called the wedding off 4 hours before it was supposed to take place and told me he needed space. So my friends thought it would be a good idea for me to get away. Anyway on the cruise i met this Australian guy who was part of the cruise ships crew on the rock climbing wall he was an instructor.A romance ensued and well i am pregnant now. I am a member of a pregnancy board where members just share day to day symptoms and stuff like that. A few of the ladies have gone to their first appointments where they have seen and heard the heartbeat when they return to their next appointment they find that their baby's heartbeat has just stopped weeks before. How common is it that this happens and are there ever any reasons as to why? Can stress cause your baby's heart to just stop or maybe some other factors. It really freaks me out cause I am 10 weeks and I have already seen my baby's heartbeat on the ultrasound and after reading their stories I just want to run to the doctor and make them listen with the doppler. I know I am being paranoid but really I just don't understand what would make it just stop beating.

my husband's son was in a terrible situation w/his mother. (we thought) He said she was having sex in front of him,locking him out of the house at night,and giving him pills to make him sleep. we took this info. and gained custody. i thought he was adjusting well. his father had to go away on business and while he was gone the childs mother came to see him. to make a long story short, they filed child abuse charges on me. said i only fed my children while he watched, i cursed him and did terrible things! we gave up custody of him although it was determined that there was no evidense to back the allegations. he has sense apologised for what he did, but he wanted to live with his mom again. and she told him that when he was ready to go back with her all he has to do is say i hit him! and they would send me to jail! now i dont let him come to our house, i have other children,i cant risk his stories hurting them. my hus. sees him at his parents. how do i move past this?

I babysat my sisters 2 kids... a 2 and a half girl and 7 year old boy...the girl has to go to sleep with 2 pacifiers..one in her hand and one in her mouth and a juice cup, has to be read too and held and will not go to bed before 930 pm...then she wakes up at 2 am and will crawl in her parents bed and go to sleep..the 7 yr old boy will not sleep without the tv on. .to me, its just ridicilious!!!! my kids are 8 years old, a girl and a 9 month old boy and my kids will never sleep with me and my fiancee and let them run our lives. the other night, my 9 month old son cried in the middle of the night, i left him alone and he went back to bed within 5 minutes. please tell me nobody does what my sister and her husband do with their kids???
