That is a very black and white view, while most things in life are not. To have an abortion just becasue you don't want to get fat while you're pregnant is not a good reason, but if you're a 13 year old kid who's been raped by your stepfather, I find it unspeakably cruel to make that child carry the pregnancy to term. I do not believe it is a politician's job to decide such matters. That desicion should be left to the medical community, in conjunction with a woman and her conscience.

I would personally not have one unless I was pregnant under horrible circumstances, but that is for me. I do not presume to have the answers for the rest of the population.

What concerns me most about a possible ban on abortion is what are we as a society willing and ready to provide for these new citizens. Born or aborted, these "babies" are still unwanted, and who is to care for them all? Will we return to orphanages? Where is adoption reform? We would need to vastly expand our family courts, to accomodate lots of new adoptions--this means judges, clerks, social workers, etc...and what about hospital space, and schools, and all the other things these people would need. I am not saying this is a reason to continue abortion, I am only saying that if it is to be stopped, we must plan for the consequences. I don't see any of that happening.

Abortion should be legal when and only when a mother's life is in danger. Abortion should also be an option for a woman who has been raped. They have already been through enough trauma, why should a woman deal with more psychological issues carrying her rapist' baby around? Yes she can give it up for adoption, but think about this, every minute of the day she will think of the incident that got her there. That is not easy and not many can do it (some do though). I believe if a woman got raped she should file a police report and get a rape kit done. This way it qualifies as a legitimate reason to get an abortion.

Other than that there is abstinence and birth control, whether using a condom (correctly), birth control pills, the ring, you name it, there is something out there for everyone and most of the time the visit and the contraceptive is free. There are clinics in every city or nearby town.

And to the female who said we are all "HYPOCRITES". Have you ever been in that situation (being raped and getting pregnant)? If not please do not say we are all hypocrites. Everyone has their own values and beliefs. Abortions should NOT be used as birth control that is wrong but in some instances it will be a better decision.

There is so many diffrent ways to approch this and everyones life is diffrent and everyones personal feelings are diffrent.I do believe in a abortion just because I had one with a anticephalic baby and as hard as it was for me I didnt feel in my heart that falling in love with a baby without a brain would make me mentally stronger. However I also believe abortion should be legal because if it wasnt and someone had a unwanted pregnancy and was forced to carry it to term they would kill the child or worse.People who chose abortion do so for thier own personal reasons who are we to judge?I do believe it is murder and yes every child has the right to live but that is not always the most perfect situation. So you are both right.

I think they should be legal.
Just because you don't agree with something doesn't mean it is wrong and if you made something like abortion illegal like it was years ago alot of women would die from it and become infertile by going to back yard clinics or trying to do it themselves...

you are allowed to have different opinions on abortion because people opinions are never wrong but having different opinions is what makes the world so interesting.... imagine if everyone had to follow the same very strict rules and if they thought differently would be punished how horrible would that be.....

No it should not be legal that is why there is so many people now that are out here thinking it is ok to go spread there legs then take action after the fact just because they do not want the baby. People should really set back and think before they go and make a baby. Although in cases of rape I agree some what although there is STILL adoption out there.

It should be legal for women who get raped or whose life/health are threatened by the pregnancy. But it should not be used at contraception. A baby at 10 weeks, although he can't survive by himself, looks like a human being, I don't think it's right that some people call him a clump of cells. He's a child that in some months will live and breathe, if his mother allows him to live. Whomever saw pictures of aborted babies knows it's murder.

I think it should be legal..

Each woman should have a choice about her body. While I may not agree with each womans choice I believe she should have the choice...

If someone disagrees with abortion that is fine and that person should not have one, however to place your beliefs and views on another is wrong, no one is forcing you to have an abortion, you should not force someone else to habe a child based on your belief...

Abortion should absolutely NOT be legal. And you're correct when you say that abortion is like killing your kid, it's taking an innocent child's life. If you are pregnant, and you don't want to keep the baby, you go through the pregnancy and birth (no matter how scared you are or scary it may be) then you do what's best for your baby if you do not want it and put it up for adoption. And if you DO want to keep the baby then GOOD FOR YOU! I wish you the best of luck and hope that you are smart enough to make the right choices.

It's not killing a kid and in MOSt cases it's not even killing a baby. Most abortions are performed when it's an embryo. An embryo is not a baby.

No. It is killing you kid,in a very violent way. U already know that. I went to term with my baby with Trisomy 13. I knew he was deformed and would die. However, he still deserved to be loved and held.
I dont like to get into if a mothers life is in danger. If she has other living kids thats a tough spot. But if its her first, she should choose the baby defiently. Getting pregnant is about being a mom with out conditions. getting pregnant and deciding its not the baby you want takes away from a real mothers love. Men dont knwo. The baby isnt kicking inside them,YOU. He can CHOOSE to use protection. And you too. Afyter that choice is made, there are no more choices./ Now theres a new life, with seperate DNA, who has choices of his or her own. send BF to abort73.com
