not to wash the baby's hair for several months because the water and soap could "get through that soft area in the top of the head and cause brain damage." Explain to her why this is not true.

I am an exploratory teacher, and I like to ask the questions on here before asking my students! So any and every one help me with my studies.

I gave birth my my daughter on 9/11/06. Normal delivery, I tore a little but nothing bad. I expected sex to hurt, so I waited until 6 weeks to start that back up with my fiance, but when we finally did, it hurt really bad. Not where I got stitches, but inside, just as he enters, it hurts, very sharp pain. Once that is over the sharp pain goes away but it's still there, like a dull pain. How long will that last? I went to the doctor and everything is fine so she said... She said it was normal to hurt... but how long? He's gentle and we have tried all different positions and it all hurts, it almost feels like I'm doing the deed fo rthe very first time, except the pain is much worse than that. I use a lot of KY too, so I know that's not the problem either, I thought that after a few times it would get better, but it's not, it just feels amazingly tight in there and it hurts bad when he first enters, any suggestions?

For you mothers...Have any of you used a treadmill for walking during pregnancy?? Was the pregnancy smoother?
How many of your mothers exercised on a treadmill by doing a moderate walk every day or every other day during your pregnancy? How was your pregnancy overall with exercise? I also want to know what treadmill speed were you walking on a 2.0 or 2.3 something like that or more higher? I have been doing treadmill from 2 weeks now in my 1st pregnancy and go up to a 2.3 speed for a good 25 minutes daily. Otherwise I make sure I do it every other day. Walking is good right?

My 11 year old son has recently starting using my blue or black eyeliner to line his eyes in the evenings and he puts it on thick. He says he likes the way it looks. I want to make his adolescence as painless as possible but I have to admit, it bothers me a little to see my baby with thick eyeliner on. He's a very good kid, he does well in school, I have no other worries. Any suggestions? Should I be concerned?

What are your views on a open or closed adoption for a child who was taken by the state and parental rights are going to be terminated after 3 1/2 years.

We are thinking about possible having an open adoption with the bio parents, but are unsure because of the circumstances. Meaning, we weren't chosen by them to raise their child, the state took him/her as a baby in a bad situation that hasn't gotten any better.

Please give me some ideas on if you have been in one, are the adopted child...etc. What type of open / semi open / closed adoption and were there any problems with both sides keeping their end of the deal up. Info on how many visits you allowed, were given...anything will help. We were all up for a total open adoption until some recent events that weren't the best choices and am on the fence to do it or to totally cut all ties.

My husband ALWAYS puts our 2 1/2 month daughter in her swing and now she will scream until you put her in there. Is there anything a wrong with that? I hate it because I feel like a failure as a mother. She coos and gurgles why she is in there. If you try playing with her she doesnt even acknowledge the fact that you are there.

I'm not sure but one of my teeth might be infected. The whole side of my face is ultra sensitive, my gums hurt but none of my teeth are painful..I just don't want to harm my baby by ignoring the situation but I don't a penny to put towards a dentist right now.

My husband has been wanting to take our three year old twin girls on a small vacation. He feels that I need some time alone being that I don't work and pregnant. He suggested going away for two days. Like leaving on Friday and coming home Sunday. But he doesn't know what he should do with them. We live in Upstate New York. Our daughters, Lizzie and Kaitlyn, have really wanted to spend time with me more than their father. Is that a normal reaction to the situation. Please help us. I will be willing to tell you more if you want. My husband said that I could go shopping, go to the spa, and just rest and be by myself. Thank you!! My husband has been really supportive and wants to help.

Ok, I'm a frustrated first time mom. I started potty training my 2yr. old daughter this week. I set the timer for a half hour and when it goes off I take her to the potty. I have her sit on the potty for 5min. She cries almost the whole time. I try to encourage her, but she just cries through it. I've given her books to read, but that just seems to distract her. Then yesterday, I put her on the potty for 5min., got her off and two minutes later she went in her pull up. So, I put her right back on the potty and told her in a nice way that she needs to go peepee on the big girl potty and not in her pull-up. I then took her off. Within the half hour time span from the first time I put her on the potty she went pee in her pull-up twice. I just don't know what to do for her to get the idea of it. Does anyone have some good tips as to how to get her to understand it and have fun learning to go potty on the big girl potty??

ok, here goes... I had a m/c on 10-25-06 I was 11 weeks. I started my pills that Friday. Then the following Friday I had surgery to have a cyst removed from my right ovary and had ascus cells burned off my cervix. I have taken my pills religously, however, A week after my surgury my Dr. put me on an antibiotic.... and we were still BDing 3 days after surgery.
I was supposed to start my period on Saturday... It has been 6 days on the green (sugar) pills. Still no Aunt flow. I was told that I could still have hormones in my system so a pg test might show a false positive. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are really hoping for a good turnout and a full term healthybaby this time.
