I gave birth my my daughter on 9/11/06. Normal delivery, I tore a little but nothing bad. I expected sex to hurt, so I waited until 6 weeks to start that back up with my fiance, but when we finally did, it hurt really bad. Not where I got stitches, but inside, just as he enters, it hurts, very sharp pain. Once that is over the sharp pain goes away but it's still there, like a dull pain. How long will that last? I went to the doctor and everything is fine so she said... She said it was normal to hurt... but how long? He's gentle and we have tried all different positions and it all hurts, it almost feels like I'm doing the deed fo rthe very first time, except the pain is much worse than that. I use a lot of KY too, so I know that's not the problem either, I thought that after a few times it would get better, but it's not, it just feels amazingly tight in there and it hurts bad when he first enters, any suggestions?

You haven't healed enough. Give it more time. Six weeks is generic. You have a specific need to wait.

Your doctor may have given you too many stitches. You might want to check out a new doctor. You may also try a small vibrator, smaller than your fiance (seriously) to get used to it before being with him. I used to work at an adult store and several people who had children came in with references from their doctors to get a vibrator or dong to use right after pregnancy until they get used to the real thing again.

I encountered the same problem when i followed my doctor's "after six weeks advice". Just give yourself some time to heal...lubricants will help for sure. Try deep breathing and abdomino- perineal exercises-these will help you feel relaxed at the same time will strengthen your perineal muscles.

i suggest that you keep on trying and it will get better and better just as the first time you ever did the thing. you didn't force it altogether but instead, the guy did it little by little is the same how you should do it.

did the doctor give you "love" stiches?
in other words, did your doctor put too many stiches in?
I would see another physician for another opinion.
