I have a day care in my home and I was interviewing a possible client recently. She called me later to ask for references, but also to discuss her concern with the backyard play area. She didn't like that my yard had a steep incline and that I kept all the outside play equipment on the deck (a very good size deck) and that the children never played in the yard. She then told me that she was getting ready to rent a bulldozer for her yard and suggested that I rent it from her and even out my backyard so the kids could play. I told her that it was not in my budget to drastically change the landscape of my yard and that it would stay as is. She pushed the issue and I told her I didn't think it was a good idea for her to bring her child to the day care and she got angry with me. I told her I was offended and ended the conversation. This lady was a bit on the crazy side in my opinion, or did I over react? What would you say to someone who asked you to bulldoze your yard?

i know this isnt a parenting question, but i know a lot of people answer these type of questions. i posted a question in the business section and im not getting answers, so my question is, are slacks "professional" attire for women or is it more appropriate for a woman to wear a skirt.

I am in desperate "want" of a tubal reversal surgery! I had my tubes tied after being blessed with my daughter and I just recently gave my princess to the Lord at the age of 2. I've heard that hey are expensive and insurance rarely pays. Are there any programs that pay for this surgery? Where are the best docters? I currently living in NC but, I am moving to OH soon. I've did my "homework" on the internet but, I would like to hear some real life experiences!

I am 11 weeks pregnant and my babies father and i are just friends , but when i talk to him he is eating a lot and feeling sick , and he is wanting sex. It made me laugh , first off we are only friends and we live an hour away from eachother and i have never heard of a man getting the pregnancy symptoms for his wife/partner. Has this happened to anyone else ? He says he is having sympathy symptoms !

I am 16 weeks pregnant and the doctors tell me that it can be dangerous for the baby because of the lack of oxygen which can cause retardation and premature labor. The more i read about it the scarier it sounds. So i wanted to know if someone was diagnosed with sleep apnea and had a health baby with no complication.

I have to go to a sleep study next month but all the questions i have are not answered i would love to find someone on the same boat to talk to about the issue.

My boyfriend has been very supported but it is hard to explain to him the fears i have.

Who ever tells you the second one is easy it is a lie it is 100 times harder may i say.

I am a first time poster so i hope i did it correctly.

My son is 9 1/2 months old and I am planning on weaning him from nursing in a few months. Luckly he takes the bottle really well when being watched by others. So I'm not really concerned with him for this proccess other than him being mad at me when he asks for the boob. My mother said the the weaning proccess was very hard and painful for her! Although that was 20+ years ago. Is there anything the doctor can give you to help out with pain and discomfort? And what is the best way to go about weaning him? Cold turkey? Substitute a bottle for the boob one feeding at a time? And how long will it all take?

My daughter always wants to roll her pants up at the waist until the bottom is at her shin. She wants her shoes tied (or velcroed) so tight that they leave marks all over her feet when she takes them off. She never complains that they hurt, but I know it cant be good for shoes to be that tight. Sometimes she wants the velcro so damn tight that there isn't any left to stick to itself (if you know what i'm trying to say).

Anyway, she'll throw the BIGGEST tantrum until her clothes are the way she likes them. How do I change this? Timeouts aren't helpful so please dont suggest them. I cant stick her in a time out when we're ready to leave for school/work in the morning. If I give her a little smack on the bottom, it just makes her throw a bigger fit. I am at my wits end. But she cant be wearing flood like pants in chicago in the winter, and cant have her shoes so darn tight that it's probably cutting off her circulation! Help!

I feel like my son is trying to give me a heart attack. not that ive ever had one but he really raises my blood pressure. Since he was 13 he decided he wasn't going to attend school. My (child) out wieghs me and towers over me. I signed him up at high school and he still would not go. I do not have the help or support of the dad as the courts took away his parental rights in 2000 for being unfit and abuse issues.
My son now at 16 has a (phone) relationship with him. I beleive The dad uses this to turn my son against me. My son doesnt talk much to me anymore and when he does its really rude, and I'm very embarassed to admit this to anyone but he is always telling me to shut (tf) up. Go to my room...or calls me an idiot. I feel so disrespected and it really hurts.
I put him in home school to keep him in a school, any school.. but recently he wasnt applying himself at all and they wanted him out of that school. So now i'm at a loss.
He sneaks out of the house in early morning hours. I tried to talk to him about this and he told me I'm being an idiot and acting irrational when I told him I do not want him going out in the middle of the night. He said he will do it anyways and that all kids do.
I'm so embarrassed to be writing this but i'm at my wits ends. This child is running my house and my life. If things dissapear, he does not admit to taking those things. (he an I are the only ones here and I know I didnt take them) If I try to just be happy and sing through the house. He tells me to stfu, go to my room and his latest thing is to call me a f#gg@t.
I dont use drugs. I am tryng to maintain a respectful persona in the community. I work in a pharmacy. I am called (sweet), too sweet by my peers. I feel like this is the hardest time in my life and the biggest challenge and I feel like a failure.
And I desperately need to tak to someone. Please feel free to respond. Theres so much more going on here but I feel like I would be writing a book. His dad was/is an abusive man that I was advised by the police after a beating, to get far away from him. I did.
He took the kids from me and kept them hidden until the County Gave them back to me.
Both children refused counceling. The oldest is married now and my son is the hardest.
I told him I want to help him and that I love him. but he tells me to get away from him and dont touch him not even a kiss on the cheak or a hug. The house feels like a tomb. and now I find myself in my room alot and very depressed.

I have been tracking with a digital ovulation predictor kit and it read that I ovulated 11 days ago (and its supposed to be very accurate). I have never gotten my period any earlier than 14 days past ovulation before. I usually have allot of cramping after ovulation until my period and am very emotional. This month I have noticed a couple little cramps and my boobs have been very sore on the sides. They also feel heavy but don't look any bigger. It has been 3 hours since I wiped pink this morning. I have cramps, but no blood. Could I be getting my period 4 days early or could it possibly be implantation spotting and cramping? I realize I need to wait it out and time will tell if it is my period or not, but I thought I'd get some imput as my husband and I have been trying to concieve for several months. Thanks for your help.

when I was 21 I had a miscarriage now I am 40 and have been trying last month I got my period for 3 days is was light this month I was a week late and had it for 3 days on the 2 day it was heavy then I woke up and it was gone. I have not been feeling right my breast feel heavy I am so tired and i feel like I am going to be sick but the feeling pass and I have alot of gas. I know I should see a doctor but have no medical coverage and money is tight. Is it possible to get pregnant and still bleed the way I described. oh yeah and since I was pregnant before I do have liquid in my breast which I was told was normal usaully when i get my period they leak for a day or 2. when pressed the liquid comes out and this has been going on for about 2 weeks. I also feel a little cramping above my hairline.

I belong to freecycle in my town. If you don;t know what that is its a place that you can give your unwanted stuff away for free. Anyways someone is offering bottles and nipples on freecycle, I personally think that is gross, that you should buy ones that ONLY your baby will use, am I being nit picky or do you guys agree?

I, got my son out of the day care facility, due to irresponsibility of the day care provider. I requested a copy of the signed contract from the provider, and I was told that, she would contact her attorney, and would get back to me.
Do us parents, have a legal right to ask for a copy of signed contract? I called licensing, and they said that they, do not know anything about it.
Could anyone please let me know? who should I go to.

my baby will be 3 months on the 13th of novmber and he crys alot he spits up alot 2 i ask the doctor if i should change the milk he said no but my son will just be sittin there and just bust out cryin and won't stop sometimes it last 4 hours on time it was 4 2 hours nonstop what should i do i just cant take it sometimes i put him in he room and let him cry that just makes it worst help someone!!

Two years ago i got pregnant with my son. I was not on good terms with my then bf and he hated the idea of becoming a parent he was still going through his bad boy phase.He dumped me and hooked up with someone else. At three months i lied to him and told him i lost the baby and was going to study abroad in England. I gave birth in London 6 months later and i did plan to tell him when i got back but when i heard he was still with the slutty girl he left me for i acted immature and kept my mouth shut.I will be finishing college at the end of this year thanks to the help of my parents. Problem is my ex.bf saw my son on campus last week and since then i have felt compelled to tell him that he has a son?Are there any legal remafacations to telling him?

We just had a new baby girl, which we both love dearly. She is a happy healthy baby too. I just started back to work and I am very tired now. But her Dad doesnt seem to help me out too much. I work, make meals, get myself ready and of course take care of our daughter. I do the night feedings, changing diapers, bath time, put her sleep, and he plays with her. Why do I get stuck with all the hard stuff....I thought it was supposed to be split up. Plus I want her to grow a stronger bond with her father because to this day I still do not have one with mine....
How do I say in the nicest way possible .... I NEED HELP! to my fiance....

My husband wants our son baptised, and we don't even go to church. I think it's because he was and that's what his side of the family expects?? I've never attended church and don't believe you need to to have faith in something. What is involved in a baptisim? Do you have to do it in front of a bunch of strangers on a Sunday. We live out of state from our families, so would a church be able to do a private one with a couple family members??? Thanks for any help!!!
